not a bad car at all. bought it with 95,000 miles have put 20,000 on it myself an it still hasnt left me stranded. isnt the fastest car in the world but from a rolling 35 itll pick up speed quick, youll be doing 90 n not even realize it, very smooth. im 6'3 an i have plenty of room, i just cant have anyone sit behind me. front wheel drive but stinks in the snow, great on wet roads. brakes and tranny are suspect, but nothing to make me want to get rid of it. i can honestly say ill probly have this car for a loooong looong time, even when the engine goes, ill put another 1 in it.

Favorite Features

17" wide stylist rims. leather an wood grain. trunk room. overall look!

more horse power better gas mileage.

I originally bought this car from the 2nd owner with 95K on it. I needed a second car to get me to/from my train station stop. I've only put about 10K on this car. Had some major problems with off with the distributor and the computer...replaced both at a cost of over $1500. Replaced the tires and did the front brakes. I passed it on to my son when he turned 17 and its a perfect vehicle for a high schooler. Looks sporty but the V6 is a bit under- powered, I feel confident there is enough weight to the vehicle in case he's in an accident. Overall, a good, but not great car. I like the era of Chrysler styling much more than their boxy macho lineup of today.

Favorite Features

Interior cockpit is very cool

Suggested Improvements

The body side molding is coming loose and should've been made to stay in place.

Review

I would have to agree with some of the reviews earlier. About a month after purchasing my Sebring I noticed black glue type stuff on side panels of the doors. I've taken it to the dealer on numerous occasions. The sad part is that they are unable to tell me what’s causing the problem. Since then every year I’ve been out of $100 or more on the following: catalyst converter, serpentine belts and currently it’s in the shop for a transmission repair. I find the car difficult in steering, very small cup holder and loud road noise. The tires on my car 17” quite expensive and only a few stores carry that particular size.

Favorite Features

Great car to have. However, my next vehicle will not be a Chrysler.

Suggested Improvements

Hopefully someone from the Chrysler Public Relations Dept will relate the message to the manufacture/plant to put more time, effort and quality in designing this vehicle not only for the appearance but the overall car. Sincerely, “Make Changes”

Review

I originally wanted a Stratus R/T but ran across the sebring in the back of a lot so I took it. Iv had it for 2 years now and the only problem I have had with it (150,000 miles) is the sway bar bushings, lower ball joints and a small leak in the flex pipe. But it has 150,000 miles what do you expect? It doesn't have much power for a v-6 but I put a air intake, exhaust system and after market plugs and wires and I noticed a big difference. It sits low, seats are kinda hard, turning radius isn't perfect and there aren't 4 cup holders because it's a coupe sports car not a full size luxury car! It looks sharp, handles awesome, very reliable. Very happy I got it, love the looks I get from everyone.

Favorite Features

Looks, handling, sunroof, leather, wheels, reliability, gas mileage, paint seems to hold up. Seems to hold up to the salt pretty good too, there isn't 1 rust spot on it.

Suggested Improvements

5 speed transmission, more hp, making the shifter a little smaller, make it to where you can put the fog lights on with the parking lights, should have made those side moldings to where they didn't catch on the fender when you open the door.

Review

I had my Sebring for several years, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I got as much as 36 miles to the gallon (and yes, that's 36) and around town consistently got in the low 20's. We added a member to our family and decided to go with a larger vehicle, so the Sebring got traded in 2006. I miss it, and would have another in a heartbeat!

Favorite Features

Convertible top, great gas mileage.

Suggested Improvements

I had no complaints about the car and don't know of any improvements to suggest.

Review

I purchased this car as a former leased/rental vehicle in 2004, so it had probably been thrashed on. Considering that, it has performed pretty well.

Favorite Features

Wide interior and back seat. Tryed a 2007 Eos with absolutely no elbow room. Sebring's have nice interior width. Also, it has nice fabric seats! Who wants to sit on a dead animal, breath toxic chemicals from the tanning, and have your legs freeze or fry on leather, depending on temperature? Not me.

Suggested Improvements

Improve blindspot behind back window. Use a Mercedes type fabric for the roof. My roof already had some cracks on the edges at 5 years of age. They haven't worsened, but that is premature. Give buyers option of cloth seats in the high end packages, not low end only.

Review

I love this car even though my friends say it is a chick car. I have had no problems with the vehicle except that it is stalling a little at 90,000 miles. I bought the car with 69,000 miles. I would buy this car again. I like this styling better than the newer ones.

Favorite Features

The looks, ease of using the top, everything.

Suggested Improvements

Better gas mileage, stronger engine.

Review

Don't buy one of these used unless you can be sure the timing belt has been recently replaced. The belt is supposed to last 105K miles, but they frequently break earlier. It's a major repair and can lead to complete engine failure. Handling is a little loose. Brakes are squishy. Road noise way too excessive, even for a convertible.

Favorite Features

Body design is nice. Interior quality above average. Top works smoothly and fits pretty well.

Suggested Improvements

Find a better engine that doesn't self-destruct at 80-100K.

Review

This car is great for me. Being a high school student and a Caterpillar employee, I need something that is sporty enough for my down time, but luxurious enough for the office. The Sebring seems to deliver meet my needs. I have regularly serviced it, and the only thing I have had to replace is the wiper motor. The nice rims are a big plus, and I love the wood trim and sunroof. However, the paint on the spoiler erodes horribly. Being a 1999, it has both cassette and CD, which is nice. It has been reliable in hot, cold, rain, or shine. The trunk is also huge. And if it isn't big enough I can always fold down the back seats. The Sebring LXi has impressed my friends and is definitely a great buy!

Favorite Features

CD, cassette, leather, large trunk, wood trim, hot heat, cold A/C, large rims, nice big cupholder in the center console, smooth styling, and a fairly good sound system.

Suggested Improvements

The car could be a lot peppier. The V6 is sluggish and unresponsive. The transmission is also weak. It lets in entirely way too much road noise, to the point of having to turn up the music to stay sane. Regardless of the Caddillac amenities, you are still paying for the rough Chrysler ride quality.

Beautiful, fun car to drive. You get many looks in this baby! It's fast, roomy back seat, and handles seamlessly. The 2.5 Mitsubishi engine is powerful and reliable. You can't miss with this one! Family friendly and sexy to boot!

Favorite Features

Sexy good looks and convertible top!

Suggested Improvements

Seatbelts need adjusters...getta little neck rub with the driver's side and stiffening the frame up so it won't jiggle over bumpy roads when top is up.
