This is a plain-vanilla model, no turbo, 2.4L motor with automatic. In the first 2500 miles, it took 100 gallons of real gas (no alcohol additive, or whatever that is they put in their to supposedly reduce polllution.) The additive drops it about 10%. With AC on around town with the additive gas it gets 17-18mpg at 20K miles, 25 or 26 on highway with real gas gas mileage was disappointing, as the government estimates were 17-25 city and 22-30 highway. Am amazed at those reporting much higher gas mileage. The "headrest" is wrong for me & there was no way to get it out of there to put in a suitable one. I didn't like black top, but it was all that was offered. End of complaints.

Posted 1st review 15 mos ago. Just changed oil and rotated tires - very reliable. Bought as primary car for commuting Dad. Take care of soft top - you better garage this car. Chrysler says sport bar is NOT a roll bar. Pluses: great styling, nimble, manual shift (bit notchy though), easy top operation, high truck-like seating, sturdy feel of structure, glass rear window with defroster. Minuses: Top-down means using trunk a lot and access is poor, can't see stoplights with top up, top freezes to "smart glass" on doors in winter - nearly pulled glass off track, long doors don't open wide in parking lots - better be skinny, flimsy drawer under pass seat, awful rear visibility top-up

Love this car! Really enjoying the sporty look and feel, standard transmission and one-touch control for the convertible top. Have had my car for a little more than 2 years and it is very reliable. The fact that it has a comfortable back seat was a big selling feature, too. It easily accommodates four adults. Gas mileage is 27-29MPG consistently. Would recommend the PT Cruiser Convertible to all ages!

What a nice surprise to buy an American made vehicle that does not shake rattle and roll. None of the annoying vibrations of the past. Fun to drive. Nice lines. Easy convertible conversion. Some road noise, but it's a convertible! Good sound system. Small trunk. If the windshield and the front end was a little sleeker, it would look totally cool instead of practically cool.

I've had my '05 PT Convertible for a little over a year, and I love this car! It's gorgeous, fun to drive, and fun to show. I drove my vert all over New Mexico for vacation this year, and the gas mileage was great. I've never had any trouble with it, save for a flat tire, and I've driven it everywhere. The trunk space isn't great, but once you get used to how low it is, you get used to it. The top still looks brand new, as does the inside, with little more than weekly cleanings. I am always asked about my car whenever I'm out on the road, and am proud to recommend everything about this Chrysler product!
