extended warranty
Written by: ronaldc on Oct 6, 2008 4:15:38 PM
Just purchased a 2005 crossfire inferno red limited convertible for $15,500 with only 15,700 miles. The 3/36 and 7/70 warranty have both expired (3rd owner). Can I purchase a warranty from Chrysler even though both warranties are not in service.??

Congrats on finding your next dream car. I only have 2 regrets as far as Crossfire ownership goes: 1 - I love my daughter, but I regret having to give up my 2005 Black Limited. Loved that car. 2 - I should have gotten an SRT-6. I would have found a reason to keep that bad boy should I have purchased it! Once again, and I'm sure others will agree, you ... Read More

I believe the Crossfire has the same role at Chrysler as the T-bird had at Ford in the 50s. The T-bird was the Ford styling icon 53 through 56 and into 57. You can see T-bird in all the Ford cars of the time. You can see Crossfire in every Chrysler product - Avengers to mini vans. Time will move on but the Crossfire styling DNA is in every Chrysler of ... Read More

I have seen it, and I love it! As a matter of fact I have a yellow roadster sitting in my driveway even as I type. The Crossfire I'm test driving is a 2005 Roadster, 6-speed, yellow exterior, black top, and an all black interior (leather). It only had 6100 miles on it when I picked it up on Friday morning (yesterday). I'm not bringing it back until Monday night. Yellow ... Read More

Purchasing a used Chrysler Crossfire
Written by: rjmck on Feb 5, 2008 7:29:39 AM
I've been researching the Chrysler Crossfire as a replacement for my 1990 Corvette. I have owned the Vette for almost 8 years but now I'm itching to move on to something different. The Vette is my third vehicle and I've only put 10,000 on it since I purchased it eight years ago. I'm not a hard driver and I enjoy driving a sporty vehicle. I prefer manual transmissions to automatics. Although ... Read More

If you are interested in an SRT-6, they were only made in 2005. As that is the model I have, I am not that familiar with the differences over the years in the base coupe (yes, there are 2006 models). One of the perks about buying an older car is that the taxes and insurance are usually lower. The depreciation is really not a factor in buying a used Crossfire as ... Read More

The "5 inch strap" is for a child safety seat retention strap. Any accessories for your Crossfire can be purchased from the dealer. The Crossfire is a niche car it is not for everyone, it is the "love child" of MB and Chrysler. The Crossfire was overpriced to many when introduced, I paid $41,636.00 for my 2005 Roadster Limited in 2004 and have never regretted it. If you bought your Crossfire ... Read More

Chrysler Company is doing away with the famed Crossfire in 2008. The last year made in the SRT-6 line was 2005 and I need to know how many of them were made? I'm a collecter of cars even though i'm only 18. I have a 1966 mustang, and first year C6 corvette and am wondering if you think the Crossfire will be a collectors item someday? Thanx and please answer.

I have a 2003 Audi A6 with the Xeon light package and while I never would have considered spending the money for them as an option (I bought the A6 used), now that I have them I'd love to get something similar for my 2005 Crossfire Roadster. So if anyone knows about an aftermarket pair of weedburners let me know. Regarding wind baffles - Chrysler has their own product now for ... Read More

Yes, your not kidding. The Chrysler Navigation really sucks. I would go with the "Tom Tom" thing that you see on TV. That seems to be really helpful. The only bad thing is, it's a bit bulky and the CF doesn't have a lot of room to work with. Congrats on your car and enjoy!

As a gas (air) gets hot, it expands... as it cools, it contracts... Since the space that the gas occupies remains the same (the inside of your tire), when it expands or contracts, the pressure correspondingly increases or decreases.. so, you aren't losing air... it is contracting.. That is why they always recommend that you check your pressure when the tires are cold.. regards, kyfdx Host-Prices Paid Forums

I live in Michigan. I have stock wheels. Dealer says tires had low pressure and sited the weather conditions. This may be a stupid question but...if you have low tire pressure doesn't that mean you are losing air? Or does it mean that the air in the tire changes due to the heat and the cold? I need to get a better understandng of this.

Intrepidspirit, Where do you live at, if you have sudden temp drops at night this may be your problem also are you running on stock wheels or have you changed them? Some after market wheels will cause problems with the TPMS. Have the dealer check it out, each individual sensor may have to be re-trained. One word of caution...donot over fill your tires.

Thank you for the specifics. I did invest in a good tire pressure gauge-Murrays Auto Parts is my 2nd favorite store since I got my Crossfire. In regards to the TPMS light, it will go on when there is a 25%(8lbs) pressure loss. The system is not tire specific, the light will come on if one tire is low by 25% or if several tires are low and equal 25%. Sudden changes in temperature will set your TPMS off. When filling your tires have the car running or the key in the ON position. after filling the ... Read More

While Vettes hold their value reasonably well (but not as well as a benz or M3 BMW), I'm pretty sure their values don't appreciate, and are prone to depreciation of value like any other car. There are too many of them, and they all look alike. A great performance car, but certainly not a collectible. Re the Crossfire pricing. I agree, way too high, Chrysler STILL doesn't get it. Remember the 300 HEMI C? It's the Chrysler convertible that was shown at the 2000 Detroit Auto Show. It was thought to be on it's way to production for a while. Then in 2001 it was thought to have been killed during the restructuring plan. However, carandtrucknews.com reports that it may still be produced, around 2005. However, the Crossfire is also coming, next year. My thinking is: If the 300 HEMI ... Read More
