Problem: Interior Dashboard Light Click On and Off
Written by: chryslerquery on May 5, 2009 6:49:33 AM
I have a 2001 Chrysler Concorde with 84,000 miles. For the past few months I have been having a problem with the interior dashboard lights (and the light that illuminates the radio). While I am driving, or even while I am stopped at a red light, out of no where the lights will quickly click on and off a few times. They always come back on but the issue is concerning ... Read More

2001 Concorde Radio Not Working
Written by: skeeter828 on Jun 10, 2008 5:23:15 PM
We bought a used 01 Concorde. Runs great except for the radio. When you turn it on, all it does is hum/buzz/crackle. The volume will not go up or down, just a constant humming at the same volume. Thought it was an antenna issue but CD & tape don't work either. Same buzzing noise. Could this be a security code issue? Did Chrysler do that to their radios? If so, any ... Read More

My concord has been doing the same thing for several months and possibly over a year now. I have the column around the key switch off and drive it this away. When it doesnt start, I start unplugging the connectors and and try starting it. It sooner or later fires right up like there is no problem and keeps starting for an undetermined amount of time. The last time I had ... Read More

The car has now been in the shop 3 weeks. The dealer said he had to get a new BCM, and still cant get any reading. HE is clueless. Do any of you experts have any ideas how to get the car started again. The dealership surely doesn't. I did an exhaustive search online but no clear solutions as to how to get a diagnostic reading and how to get the ... Read More

2001 Chrysler Concorde Lxi Starting Problems
Written by: daveali98 on Jun 30, 2007 11:49:33 PM
I purchased a 2001 Chrysler Concorde Lxi for my grandma last summer with 75K miles. Last week the car suddenly would not start. The dealership in Athens Ohio cannot figure out what the problem is. 1. Anyone have any clue what could prevent the car from starting ? The local car mechanic eliminated the battery and starter. 2. The dealership said that they need to order a new BCM (Body Control ... Hi everyone, Im having a few problems with my 2001 chrylser concorde. The first one is that the service engine soon light comes on intermitently, two of the codes are that the battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts (which it hasnt been), and recently it says computer error. (Another is a cylinder misfire but I think i know how I can fix that.) I was looking around and ... Read More

Hi Dallasw. I was wondering if you had any responses to your concord problems. I too have the check engine light on and the error codes also read battery disconnect and cylinder #6 misfire. I brought it to a repair shop and they told me it was a bad spark plug. I just replaced them and I found it odd. It did run OK for 1 day and it now runs ... Read More

I am wondering what you mean by hard to start. My wifes 2001 concord just clicks when you turn the key. Turn it off and try again, sometimes 10 - 15 times before it starts. Then it starts like it has no problem and runs fine. Anytime I do something to it, it doesn't come back for awhile. But comes back and does the same thing. I think I have traced ... Read More

Ok. Let me start by telling you that before the end of this story you will think I am an IDIOT. Well, I am. Back in 1999 I bought a 1999 Concorde Sedan. It was a farely good ride. Little noisy but ok. Changed its oil regularly. I left the country and while away my brother in law drove and cared for the car. In March 2001 brother took it in ... Read More

Rear Defroster Causes Static
Written by: robw64 on Feb 10, 2002 6:20:17 AM
Hello everyone -- my 2001 Concorde LXi experiences heavy static on the radio when I turn on the rear defroster. Obviously, it has something to do with the integrated rear window antenna. The dealer couldn't find a cause when I took it in, so it goes back on Monday so they can consult with Chrysler in Detroit. Anyone experience something similar? By the way......I love this car!

toms99: sorry haven't come to this board in two weeks. In the No. VA area, there are a couple of dealers who do the low-price car ads, you know the ones they advertise then when you come to the lot find out that the ones you REALLY want (with the bells n whistles)cost a little bit more. I would e-mail all the local Chrysler dealerships within 50 miles, and ask them about any leftover 01's. After you get an idea of the supply, then you can decide how agressive to be.

peva: I don't think they decontent. They add on one or two things each year and typically up the price a couple hundred. one of the main external things are the wheels. In my 99, the wheels are 15". Chrysler Concorde Reliability

My wife and I leased a new Concord in 1994 and liked it so much that we purchased the car when the lease was up in 3-years. We still have it, and we still love it. However, I would hate to think how much we would have spent on repairs had we not purchased a 70K mile/7-year bumper to bumper warranty. Our callas area dealership (Huffines) had really good technicians and ... Read More

You might want to check out the Allpar.com site, they have a dealer/service board that you can browse or post your question about dealers in the Bay Area. If you were in the Kansas City area I could wholeheartedly (after all - this is the heartland!) recommend Bud Brown Chrysler (maybe even a few Plymouths left). Very nice dealer (HUGE INVENTORY - every possible variation of color/interior seating) and a great ... Read More

I've been lurking here reading your messages. I'm interested in a new Concorde. I rented a 2000 LHS over the Thanksgiving holiday and I was impressed with the car. However, I really like the looks of the Concorde better (they're not changing anything for 2001, are they?) I'm expecting the difference in performance between the LHS and Concorde to be insignificant to a non-gearhead like myself. The only thing I find ... Read More

I too (and still am) very much taken with the front end of the >98 Concorde. That wide oval egg crate grille is a wonderful throwback to the European sports cars (Ferrari, Aston Martin etc.) of the 60's. The rear end is OK - my ideal car would have the front end of the Concorde and the rear end of the Intrepid or 300M. And maybe Chrysler has produced such with ... Read More

Give me a break....

OK I've been reading posts concerning the wind and road noise in the Chrysler Concorde... and some people are downright ridiculous about criticizing it! I own a Chrysler 300M, but my mother has a `99 Concorde, and let me tell you, while the wind and road noise is audible, it is not outrageously unacceptable. More prevalent than that of other auto makers? Yes. Reason for not buying the car? Definitely not. ... Read More
