Gosh!!!!! I want to tell you there is a significant established history with sludge build up in the engines of both the intrepids and the concordes......We have a 1999 concorde.....fortunately for us, no engine problems...(not yet anyway) but a few other problems i.e. Air bag light on and no power windows/locks/blower for the heater....this problem was a result of a bad 'ignition switch'. If I would had my preferences, I would ... Read More

2002 concorde with 100k miles
Written by: cweston on Aug 8, 2007 3:23:09 PM
We have a 1999 concorde we bought used and it only had 80K miles on it, now has 114K....so, in my opinion, I think a 100k for a 2002 is quite a bit. I'd like to give some of our personal experience and what to watch for.....the engine of course as your last reply touched base on and I agree the 3.5 is better. But beware of the sensors---speed control sensor--when ... Read More

Hi, I've been reading all of the posts and thought I'd ask a question for my friend's Mother. She has a 1999 Chrysler Concorde and the check engine light came on and she has noticed that her car is driving funny. She has to press on the gas pedal sometimes and hold it down and the car still acts like it's wanting to stop. The codes that came up were P0700 ... Read More

1999 Chrysler Concorde Dies when hot
Written by: gatomcat on Jul 22, 2005 2:21:57 PM
I purchased a 1999 Chrysler Concorde with a 2.7 engine, I now know I should have gotten a 3.5 engine instead, not long ago with 76,000 miles. I have not used it much but am starting to. When I have been driving it for a while & gets hot it will 'die' or 'stall out' at the light or when I slow down. Sometimes it will start back up or I ... Read More

Concorde 1999 LXi
Written by: jake_cool4ever on Jun 12, 2005 8:19:45 AM
Hey, I just bought a Chrysler Concorde 1999 from an auction (I was more of forced into buying it), anyways, I got it for $4000 and it has 136,000. The car's engine "looks" good, but then again I don't know anything about engines. Interestingly enough, when I started the car and moved my gear to 'D' I realized that it was really hard to do and I had to apply some ... Read More

AC and Whistling Dash Problems 1999 LXi Concorde
Written by: vanbcman on Jun 3, 2005 11:01:08 PM
I recently purchased a 1999 Concorde LXi after being very happy with my previous 1995 Concorde. Heres my problem ... the AC has stopped working and on certain settings I can here a whistling noise from the dashboard when running either the heater or AC (which has stopped working also). Any ideas on what to check before I take it to Chrysler? And should I take it to an AC shop ... Read More

Concorde Engine Problems
Written by: introuble1 on Apr 10, 2002 4:09:28 PM
Ok. Let me start by telling you that before the end of this story you will think I am an IDIOT. Well, I am. Back in 1999 I bought a 1999 Concorde Sedan. It was a farely good ride. Little noisy but ok. Changed its oil regularly. I left the country and while away my brother in law drove and cared for the car. In March 2001 brother took it in ... Read More

re Chrysler Products

d47: Actually they have improved a lot. You will notice that a lot of the 1999+ LH-platform owners (300M, Concorde, LHS, Intrepid) are very pleased with their cars. That is because they did better design work on these cars. Same with the new model of Sebrings, much better cars than the previous ones. The new engines and transmissions are responsible for a lot of the customer satisfaction. DOHC designs vs. the ... Read More

Chrysler Concorde Reliability

My wife and I leased a new Concord in 1994 and liked it so much that we purchased the car when the lease was up in 3-years. We still have it, and we still love it. However, I would hate to think how much we would have spent on repairs had we not purchased a 70K mile/7-year bumper to bumper warranty. Our callas area dealership (Huffines) had really good technicians and ... Read More

Transmission Problems on 94 Chrysler Concorde
Written by: pachristin on Feb 1, 2001 10:58:53 AM
I own a 1994 Chrysler Concorde. In August 1999 I started to have problems with the transmission at 68000 miles. The transmission was down shifting to fast causing the car to feel as if it was hit from behind. The dealer rebuilt the transmission for a low cost of $1930. I had an after-market warranty which covered most of the bill. Last week the transmission started to go again. This time ... Read More

A few comments on various subjects... First of all, on the face of it, it would seem that the price that the dealer offered for the 2000 LXi was pretty decent. It would appear (without doing real number-crunching) that it is a couple thousand below invoice. My humble opinion is that it doesn't hurt to haggle, but be prepared to pay the asking price if the dealer stands firm. Secondly, I ... Read More

Re: Vibration in steering wheel

I have a 1994 Concorde with 31000 miles on it and recently noticed a vibration at various times and under various road conditions. I took it to a dealer and he said the inner tie rods were "worn out." The dealer replaced the tie rods and realigned the front end (which is required according to the service manual), at considerable expense. This may be the cause of your vibration problem. I ... sticking windows mmanson2

My 1998 chrysler concorde has had a problem with windows sticking in the up position. The problem occurred in the heat of the day and when it cooled down outside I was able to lower windows. I have found out that damp moisture has got into the window tracks causing them to stick at the top rubber part. The Dealer said it is a problem and the tracks and upper rubber ... Read More

I leased a 2000 Concorde LXI in September 1999. Until recently, I also had a 1996 Maxima. As far as road noise, I was shocked at how poorly insulated the Chrysler was! It is such a luxurious car, but it is nowhere near as quiet as my Maxima was. My wife drives a 2000 Altima, and despite being smaller and several thousand dollars cheaper, it is every bit as quiet as ... Read More

Chrysler Concorde LX..A Lemon

I have a 1999 Concorde with 14,000 miles which is currently in for service for the 8th time. The problems have been suspension and electrical. The car pulls to the left and so far by replacing sway bars, putting a reenforcement package on the front end and replacing the rack and pinion on the front left has not corrected the pulling problem. The electrical has been the windows intermittently not performing ... Read More

Upgrading sound
Written by: johnhart on Oct 12, 1999 10:20:21 PM
I'm interested in my best options for upgrading a 1999 LX's basic sound system. Specifically, I'd like to add a CD player or changer. Any experiences anyone's had while installing either Chrysler products or aftermarket decks are appreciated. Does the current in-dash storage bin easily accommodate either option? Also, should I consider filling out the existing speaker cavities? Thanks, from a new Concorde owner.

"Zone charges" are Chrysler's expression for the "advertising charges" you'll see reference to on the new vehicle pricing and information pages on Edmund's. Go check the 1999 Concorde LX information; it's right below the autobytel.com blurb, in brackets. They also pull some Mickey Mouse stuff with their charges for customer information system ($20), and seven gallons of gas, or whatever it is. Nit-picky, I'm sure you'll agree, but there it was ... Buying tips...

My 1999 Concorde LX is now 5 weeks old and I am loving it. I had a wonderful purchasing experience with no haggling. I contacted the Fleet Department of my local Chrysler Dealership (Darner Chrysler/Plymouth/Jeep in Mesa, AZ). Minus the rebate, I paid $20,800 (plus tax/tags). My Concorde has the basic features plus CD with 8 speakers, trip computer, split bench seats, 8-way power seats, 16" tires / spare. I had ... Read More
