Review

I got this car a year ago from my grandfather, and it had 183,000 miles on it then. It had been well- maintained, but over the past year it's needed a new starter, a new battery, a new timing belt kit, a new water pump, and a new serpentine belt. It also developed a weird problem where, after stopping and starting several times in succession (as in running errands) it wouldn't start for awhile, and no one could ever diagnose what that was. The car now has 198,000 miles on it and I'm done sinking money into it - I'm getting rid of it! However, this car performed great for a long time and took a lot of abuse well.

Favorite Features

Fantastic sound system, barely uses oil, and very nice leather interior.

Suggested Improvements

N/A, car no longer in production.

Review

We bought this car to replace my wife's 1989 Eagle Premier. The Concorde chassis is based on the Eagle. Car is a very comfortable and eats freeway miles without a problem. Engine power is more than adequate and drive train noise is minimal although coarse road surface noise is transmitted to the interior. Handling with good performance tires (HR or VR) is very good. Stock rubber, Goodyears were beyond terrible. Mechanically the car has been sound. Had one software failure, had the brakes redone, and the oil pan gasket replaced. The 2.7 L V-6 is a good yet sophisticated engine and you should use a good synthetic oil in this engine to prevent any issues.

Favorite Features

Lovely ride, good seats, very good handling with high performance tires, good highway fuel economy (28 - 31 MPG when driven judiciously. Tight body structure. Very good open road car.

Suggested Improvements

This car is no longer made.

Review

This was a great car for the money. It looks sleek and rides very comfortably. I am not sure why it is no longer in production but when it comes back, it will be a winner and I would probably purchase another.

Favorite Features

Exterior design. Regular gas requirement

Suggested Improvements

Battery is in a strange place, but is probably due to cab forward design, which should not be compromised.

In 2006, if you're looking at a used Concord or Intrepid with the 2.7 engine, run away very fast! The engine was totally mis-designed and the interior parts don't get enough oil to keep them lubricated. My Concord had 72,000 miles on it and it just up and died. $5000 to put a rebuilt engine in it! Unheard of at 72,000 miles. Again, don't walk - RUN!

Favorite Features

smooth ride

Suggested Improvements

cheaper replacement engines

Review

Purchased the car brand new in July of 1998, and have enjoyed it ever since. I have had some mechanical problems, with the most expensive being the failure of the #1 fuel injector. I also had the windshield washer pump fail, and the fan belt tension wheel needed replacing. The headlights yellowed very quickly. I was able to buff them out, but was surprised how bad they got. The rubber trim around the headlights was falling apart within the 2nd year of owning it. The tires that came with the car were the worst I ever owned. Interior problems consisted of the pass thru door on the backseat breaking, and the bench seat console lid broke and would not shut properly.

Favorite Features

The great body style with large trunk, and spacious rear legroom sold us. At the time we needed a big 6-passenger car. The A/C could freeze you out. Great turning radius, and although it wasn't an Acura engine, the 2.7-liter engine was more than enough to keep me up with traffic.

Suggested Improvements

The interior plastic was cheap, and marred easily. The radio could be better. Put the battery in the trunk if no other place is available. Re-design the headlights so that changing a bulb is easier, and the headlight itself doesn't yellow.

Review

This car has the most luxurious interior of any other car I've driven. It has great looks and comfort. That's about all it's got. At 55,000 I've replaced the rotors, brakes, tie rods, transmission fluid and filter. The check engine light comes on for no reason. The power window motors have been replaced and the speakers work intermittently. I'm at the mechanic's every other week for some reason or another.

Favorite Features

The interior has a beautiful set up. Everything is accessable to the driver. There are nooks and cranies for everything. Quiet ride.

Suggested Improvements

Beef up the reliability of engine/transmission parts. An absolute disappointment in the cost to maintain this vehicle. Not a good choice unless you have tons of $$ you'd like to throw at your mechanic or if you depend on having your vehicle daily. Shame on Chrysler.

Review

This is a great car. We purchased it new and never had any problems outside of normal wear and tear. At 100,000 miles, the car seemed to fall apart. The water pump failed (it needs a redesign), several sensors have failed, including the oil pressure sensor twice, the cam sensor (even the replacement failed after 1000 miles), and now we have a rod bearing problem. We have 121,000 miles on it now and can't give the car away. It was a fantastic car up to 100K.

Favorite Features

Smooth ride, great mileage for a large car, and the trunk space

Suggested Improvements

Quieter ride, raise the front slightly so curbs don't destroy air dam.
