Checking in

Hope this message finds everyone well. My 2002 300M is now approaching 88,000 miles. Just had to replace the evaporator for the A/C system at a cost of $1450. Earlier in the year, replaced the battery (preventative maintenance) and tires (I actually got Eagle LS-2's and they have been fine). Also got the TSB taken care of for cracking bolts on front buckets (if ... Read More...

Chrysler 300 just quits at speed

Re: Chrysler 300 just quits at speed [aj86]

My 2004 300M Special shutdown on me when I was playing with it on a long trip. On a wide open desert highway in far West Texas I had an opportunity to see how fast the car would go. No traffic, just me and Special. It appeared to be chip limited at 127 mph. I coasted down to about 80 mph (the posted limit) when all the idiot lights came on and the engine simply shutdown. I quickly ... Read More...

Re: Commong Chrysler 300M Problems? [mnewelski]

I have owned a 1999 300M and a 2004 300M Special, running each of them for about 75,000 miles. (I currently own a 300C). The '99 300M required standard wear item replacements (brakes, belt, hoses, battery, etc.) and then one of the electric fans went out. I replaced both fans (complete assembly) for a bit over $300, since I had planned to keep the car. The right rear ... Read More...

Chrysler 300M Transmission Problems

Re: transmission - electrical? [alcie]

After reading through some of what has been posted I am convinced that Chrysler has a real problem on there hands.I own a 2004 last model of the 300M. It had 12K miles on it when I bought it. Very good at taking it in for updated services, etc. Last year "2007" is when I started having problems while it was still warrantee. Re-accuring problems with the surging of the ... Read More...

Chrysler Quality a best kept secret

There are a lot of misinformed and hard headed people out there that love to bash Chrysler. I have owned 2 Town & Country minivans, 2 300M's (a 1999 and a 2004 Special), and I now own 2 300C Heritage Editions. I would not have even considered buying these cars if they were not reliable. I used to be a Ford man until I got fed up with seeing my service writer about every three ... Read More...

Re: TSB 09-002-04 "ticking" sounds from engine [naatz1]

My 2004 300M Special required a cam sensor replacement at 40,000 miles at a cost of $300. Other than that, it has never needed to return to the shop for anything. I cannot justify buying extended warranties for $2000 to cover $300 repairs with a $100 deductible. Save your money and spend it aas needed. Fortunately, Chrysler is building one of the best made cars on ... Read More...

2004 300M Special - 2 small but annoying problems

I love my car but perhaps, like most 300M owners, I wish it were simply better built. Anyways, I'm looking for some wisdom on 2 little but annoying problems which my dealer - Birmingham Chrysler-Jeep in Troy, MI, seems to not be able to detect for more than a year now. The problem 1: most of the times when I lightly accelerate and the car starts to move, I hear some kind ... Read More...

My 01M

I am new to the forum here. I bought a 2001 300M in March 2004, during my last semester of college. It has a steel blue exterior with the dark slate gray interior. I had a 1991 Ford Explorer that was falling apart and it was certainly time for a new vehicle. About a year prior to my purchase, I came across the 300M at a car show and I fell in love with it. I decided right there ... Read More...

Chrysler 300M: Problems & Solutions

Re: 300M 2000 Intermittent radio, dash, headlights flicker [laurasdada]

Luckily (I guess or DC fixed this weird bug) my 2004 has not shown this light show problem in 17,000 mi. I suspect that a 2000 Chrysler has only 3/36 warranty which is what my 2001 Jeep had before I bought a 5/70 extended warranty which just expired. The 2002-05's had 7/70 and I understand some, not all 2006 have a lesser warranty again. I just drove by our dealer lot ... Read More...
