intermittent dash light flicker
Written by: intrepidspirit on Nov 10, 2004 2:55:51 PM
This appears to be one of the "light show" features of the 300M that many have experienced. It is impossible to intentionally duplicate, so it is a Chrysler service department's dream -- could not duplicate problem! Since it can't be duplicated, it has never (to my knowledge) ever been repaired in any 300M. Hence no TSB. Both my wife and I have experienced this in our past 300M's (2000 and 2001), ... Read More

gas mileage
Written by: intrepidspirit on Jul 6, 2004 8:47:26 AM
My leased 2000 300M got great gas mileage. When I turned it in, I bought a 2003 M. My wife recently got a new (demonstrator) 300M to replace her 2001, which was totalled. We have both noticed that the gas mileage has not been as good as the prior models (2000 & 2001). However, we have only 7,000 miles on each of the 2003's, so it may get a little better. ... Read More

PHG vs non-PHG
Written by: jona57 on May 4, 2002 7:30:07 PM
Russ is quite right about the brakes & steering. Chrysler's Product Information sheet for 2001 (my M's year) lists the braking "swept area" as identical for both PHG & nonPHG, although the PHG has front outboard vented discs (as Russ noted). The 2001 300M brochure mentions the PHG having "stiffer calipers", although I find no mention of this in the PI sheet. The PI sheet notes the optional (PHG) steering is ... Read More

PHG vs non-PHG
Written by: jona57 on May 3, 2002 4:32:53 PM
Just my 2 cents as the owner of a 2001 with PHG- I had to search in my area to find a PHG-equipped 300M. I drove 6 non-PHG M's and had each salesman do his best to discourage me from the PHG. There is a distinct difference between the 2 suspensions, with the PHG having a bit harsher ride (esp. on rough pavement) but better handling & braking. After nearly a ... Read More

no1trust - leasing vs. buy
Written by: toms99 on Apr 29, 2002 3:30:32 PM
Here's what I did: I decided to lease my 99LHS when I first got it in May 1998. It was my first time leasing. Yes, buying outright is a better financial decision, but I was a little nervous about build quality and long-term reliablity (not so much because of Chrysler but because it was such a radical new design and first year platform.) So I decided to let Chrysler take that ... Read More

It is a base model (full size spare) with 35,500 miles. We bought it new in April/01 for $24,988. However, any dealer that has excessive stock of 300m's is getting anxious to deal. I test drove a special this weekend while waiting at a service dept (could not resist). I liked the duals and big wheels. Sales manager saw my 2001 M and suggested that I "upgrade" it to a special - he claimed chrysler has some sort of promotion for existing 300M-ers that that trade in their cars. I liked the ride, handles a little better than mine non-php. But not nice enough ... Read More

bodo2- 300M vs TransAm
Written by: jona57 on Sep 19, 2001 6:25:26 PM
The decision depends upon what you want in a car. The 300M is among the best handling and braking large sedans in the world (especially when equipped with the performance package). It is more upscale in terms of interior appointments and comfort. For 2001+, the luxury group with real wood trim is very nice. CHRYSLER CUTS 2002 PRICES ACROSS THE BOARD
Written by: adplusone on Aug 31, 2001 6:34:59 AM

Hmmm it seems to me that everyone who is complaining about the 300m should either fork out the extra $5 grand for the imports or use that $5 grand for performance mods to make the 300m faster than any $34,000 Acura. Or better yet ... Read More
