Hi everybody some of my questions below have been posted on another forum but i figured I would post them on here with more people. The following are some issues with my car which i believe is a awesome car: 1) I need new tires the current goodyear LS models are no good in snow and make my car wobble like a freight train. intermittent dash light flicker
Written by: intrepidspirit on Nov 10, 2004 2:55:51 PM
This appears to be one of the "light show" features of the 300M that many have experienced. It is impossible to intentionally duplicate, so it is a Chrysler service department's dream -- could not duplicate problem! Since it can't be duplicated, it has never (to my knowledge) ever been repaired in any 300M. Hence no TSB. Both my wife and I have experienced this in our past 300M's (2000 and 2001), ... Read More

Newbie--I bought a 2000 M in Feb '01. It was owned by Daimler/Chrysler, used by a sales rep., I was told. It had 29K on it and my wife and I love it except for road noise on coarse pavement. I had a problem with RF door latch, cost about $170 and just last month with 55K on it the A/C quit. Dealer said it was the evaporator (mucho labor cost) ... Read More

gas mileage...
Written by: intrepidspirit on Aug 2, 2004 11:36:14 AM
In my previous posts about gas mileage, my major complaint was that the gas mileage on the 300M got worse from the 2000 to 2003 model years, while the smog index reduced from 1.00 to .48, which, I believe, would reduce the gas mileage. If changes were made to the engine to reduce gas mileage, I feel that the EPA gas mileage rating should be changed accordingly. One other unfavourable variable ... Read More

gas mileage
Written by: intrepidspirit on Jul 6, 2004 8:47:26 AM
My leased 2000 300M got great gas mileage. When I turned it in, I bought a 2003 M. My wife recently got a new (demonstrator) 300M to replace her 2001, which was totalled. We have both noticed that the gas mileage has not been as good as the prior models (2000 & 2001). However, we have only 7,000 miles on each of the 2003's, so it may get a little better. ... Read More

Replacement for 300M
Written by: drivequalslove on Dec 4, 2002 7:37:29 PM
I just had a look at the link (mentioned in the above message). If this is what Chrysler is going to replace the 300M with, then it is truly a sad day and sad future for Chrysler. That car is really gay looking. Piece of shit. I knew something was up when the 300N concept (introduced at the 2000 auto show in Detroit) got swept under the rug. What a gorgeous ... Read More

Written by: gary_berg on Oct 21, 2002 6:25:00 PM
Well, the buyout on my 2000 M is just about exactly what the black book is according to the bank I leased through - not a D/C lease, a bank lease. Bank said I'd have to pay the full residual, which was pegged at lease time at 51-52% as I recall. Residual for a 2003 M is pegged at 42% right now. But at least in the case the dealer ran, ... Carpoint rates the '99 reliability pretty highly: http://carpoint.msn.com/vip/usedrelover.aspx?make=Chrysler&model=300M I've had some problems with my 2000 (including the shrinking weather stripping), but nothing major and all taken care of under warranty. My impression of the posts here over the last two years by '99 owners would not lead me to think '99's should be avoided. Only a few posters have had serious problems. I happened to be watching Primetime last night on ABC when they did a report on Chrysler Gen 3 seat belts. It is as solid as the day it was driven home, with no strange noises, squeaks, leaks, etc. There are alot of outstanding cars out there in the "near-luxury" class, but the 300M is the best combination of all the features one could want.
