Hemi with cylinder deactivation manages reasonable economy while providing V8 power. Engine options range from the underpowered 178-hp V6 of the base model, to a white-knuckled 425-hp V8 in the SRT8. Handles and steers smaller than it looks.

Ride is firm and controlled, without floatiness. Passenger environment appropriately spacious though high beltline is controversial
