I just traded in my 2006 300C Heritage Edition on a 2011 Town & Country, to upgrade our road trip vehicle. My only complaint with my 300C was the small trunk; otherwise it was a fabulous road car... I was surprised to discover how much the Town & Country had improved since our 2000 model. The new 3.6L V6 engine is said to become one of the standard choices available in ... Read More
You should take a look at your owner's manual and see when the timing belt needs replacement. It's probably due. Generally, water pump and timing belt are changed at same time. As for it being a "Crappler," I own a 2006 Dodge Caravan with 73k miles (116k km). Front brakes lasted 30k miles, rear brakes are still original, engine doesn't use oil between oil changes, and the only repairs outside of ... Read More

Somehow there is immediate bias to lump everything that Chrysler has done wrong and therefore everything they have done is considered wrong. All the manufacturers make mistakes, every single one. Where they haven't been able to come up with is in competition to Accord/Camry/Altima. I suspect that ... Read More

I have a 2005 C and have been using 87 octane. It runs fine, can't tell any difference when using 89.
Mid-grade 89 octane. Tried premium and thought I was getting slightly better mileage. But have concluded it's more a function of the brand of gas (and outside temp and tire pressure....).
Well, it was a progressive kind of thing: When I first saw the new Chrysler 300 series model in 2005, I loved the looks of the car. It was unique and I felt the Mercedes influence on the vehicle or 'Euro' design, if you will, was rather striking! When the 'crown sensitive' thing happened and the 'bolt and shim kit' fix really didn't help matters, it was then that the first ... Read More

Thanks for the additional information, maxrider. Let's estimate what this car's lease payment should be and see what we come up with. According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2006 Chrysler 300 Limited AWD with an MSRP of $36,875 and a selling price of $33,472 through GMAC right now for 39 months with 12,000 miles per year, its zero down, pre-tax monthly payment should be around $478. Hi mschiavone. The salesperson who told you that Chrysler Financial would not let them run a 36 month lease on this car was not exactly telling the truth. You can do a 36 month lease on a 2006 Chrysler 300 right now if you want to, but the 39 month lease program is more attractive and probably the way that I would go if I was interested in leasing one right ... I noticed that fuel data computer is still active when the car is shut off and the accessories power delay feature is active. So if you shut your car down and are listening to the radio or just sitting there, the fuel data computer is probably calculating 0 MPG. Try it, when the engines off and delayed accessory power is active, sit there and watch the MPG drop on the fuel ... Read More
Our Town&Country van is AWD, and the impact on mileage (if memory serves) was about 1 mpg less both city and highway. I think it would be the same for the 300C. For the van, the info center mileage ran very close to my own calculations so I quit comparing. However, some of the "stuff" I've read on these forums and elsewhere make me suspicious of whatever the algorithm now is ... Read More
I have a C and have not driven the touring or base. But if you can afford the touring, you should get it. I have seen a lot of touring owners say they like the performance and acceleration. Not many with the base speak favorably of the performance/acceleration. Here is the complete list of all the additional features you get when you get the touring. This list is from 2004 (for ... You're welcome, mschiavone. If you were to lease a 2006 Chrysler 300 AWD Touring through Chrysler Financial right now for 36 months with 15,000 miles per year (a typical term / mileage, let me know if you plan on going with a different length / mileage), its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00236 and 57%, respectively. When negotiating your lease on this car, keep in mind ... Read More
I have never leased a vehicle so bear with me...I am planning on leasing a 2006 Chrysler 300 SRT-8. It is a very low production vehicle that most dealers are marking up $2-3k, but my dealer is leasing the car to me at MSRP. The money factor he quotes is 0.00235 with a residual value of $26,342.25. Initial cap cost is $47,895, L.E.V. is calculated at 55%, Bank fees/gap is $700. ... Read More
Thanks carman for the info. In fact I am looking to lease. I am looking at the 2006 AWD Touring addition with sunroof and sound group. Can you expand on the current lease offers? Are the money factor and residual the same for the AWD Touring? Thanks
Here's the information that you're looking for, mschiavone. If you were to lease a base 2006 Chrysler 300 through Chrysler Financial right now for 36 months with 12,000 miles per year, its buy rate lease money factor and residual value should be .00175 and 63%, respectively. This car's lease program is different if you want a higher trim level, like a Touring model, or one that is equipped with AWD. Let ... Read More
Looks like I was lucky to get a 2002 while DaimlerChrysler still had complete trip computers in the overhead console. I was looking at a new 2006 GC SXT but DaimlerChrysler has removed too many nice features from their minivans that were standard equipment in 2002. I was also disappointed that most of the Chrysler 300's have dual zone temperature control as optional equipment. Should be standard equipment on a nice ... Read More
Does the 2005 and 2006 Chrysler 300C SRT-8's have a different suspension system than the other 2005 and 2006 Chrysler 300's? I was wondering, since I have not seen any concerns written about the SRT-8's pulling to the right. It seems like the pulling to the right is a consistent concern on many of the non SRT-8 300's
Am close to purchasing a 2006 Chrysler 300 Touring Edition. Took out a Home Equity loan for the car and some home repairs, so essentially will be paying cash at the dealership. I have a few questions since this is my first new car purchase in 13 years. First, do I need a cashier's check, Bank check or will a personal check be ok? Also, the MSRP is 28,200, invoice is ... The 2006 Avalon Limited is being offered to fleets to combat the Chrysler 300 Touring AWD model being offered by them. This must be the reason for the delivery delay to dealers. Personally, I am trying to decide between the two, but leaning towards the Avalon. I have concern with the rear visibility on the 300 and the lower gas mileage, but I do like the look. Can someone comment on ... Read More

Does anyone, including Chrysler know why the car pulls to the right? This seems so strange. It is happening in new 2006 models too, I guess. My cousin just rented a new 300 with few miles on it and it pulls to the right. He was going to let the rental agency know about the alignment, so I told him about this weird problem they are having with the car. I ... Read More

I bought a 2006 300 Touring RWD in late May this year and have enjoyed checking out the Edmunds.com comparisons with other cars in that class. Chrysler also uses Edmunds to give comparisons on its site. In all the different comparisons, the 300 Touring is listed as having "storage" on the back of the seats and "storage" in the rear center arm rest. I sure don't have these features and while ... I just visited the Chrysler site, where they have posted 'build and price' info for 2006 models. Is it my imagination - or has Chrysler slightly softened the front end of the 300, so that it's not quite so 'in your face' - ?
