The only good cure is to put in a new Torque Converter. You can oil in the tranny a million times but you won't get it all out of the Torque Converter.

tranny problem or just a scam by chrysler

I own a 2005 Chrysler 300 I believe I am the second owner of this car, recently my car developed transmission problem and I had it towed to a Chrysler service dept. in New York City. When I enquired on the status of my car, I was informed that I needed another tranny and that it would cost me $4,000.00, and that I would need to pay half the amount before ... Read More

This is message #11 up above. Tell the dealer about the TSB and tell him to extend the AC Condensor Drain Ture as it drips on of the tranny and goes in via the bottom of the filler tube. Once it gets into the torque convertor, it will shake rattle and roll. The silicone fix they tried on mione at 60,000 K never worked, they put in another at about 90,000 ... Read More

The transmission fluid was checked last week and was loaded with water. It took 5 flushes to get the water out. Now my concern is, how did it get in there and will it come back. I have never been in a flood, the shop said that they see no leaks and the pressure levels are ok now. Also, isn't my transmission damaged if it had water for ~ 6 months? ... Read More

I need direction on how to tackle the vibration problem. I have been experiencing this problem for about 6 months. Several Chrysler shops have seemed oblivious to the issue even after I printed TSB-011-05 and gave them a copy. My original warranty had expired so I purchased an extended warrantly from Chrysler. Fortunately this is my second Chrysler, I have a 2006 300C and it just went over 36K and have only had a problem with the brakes. I also had a Plymouth (Chrysler) that I had for over 13 years and the most extensive thing I had done was to have freeze plugs replaced, never a new engine, radiator, transmission, nothing! Well, it was a progressive kind of thing: When I first saw the new Chrysler 300 series model in 2005, I loved the looks of the car. It was unique and I felt the Mercedes influence on the vehicle or 'Euro' design, if you will, was rather striking! When the 'crown sensitive' thing happened and the 'bolt and shim kit' fix really didn't help matters, it was then that the first ... Read More

Xtec-- This is what gets me tho', your Charger "does not have the problem" and that is the crux of this whole issue where the dealerships and Chrysler make with the "WHAT problem?" thing when it comes to the 300 series vehicles yet it was THEY who issued the 2005 TSB! On my first rear-wheel V6 300 T, I had the "shim and bolt kit" performed and the problem remained although ... Read More

Well, one thing about public forums, all kinds of responses begin to come in, some public and others via email [I've commented on this issue elsewhere as well] and much is learned ... with excellent references and, more importantly, professional automotive engineering citations to boot! For example, most roads de facto have slight inclines in order to avoid water pooling and thus provide water run-off if you will while preserving the ... Read More

The thing of it is, it shouldn't be that way! If ==all== vehicles had that right pulling propensity ==or== there was a known propensity for this pull right situation of so-called "crown sensitive" or, as you put it, "hyper-sensitive front end" between front wheel drive vehicles and rear or AWD vehicles, well, that's one thing, but this does not show up as a general axiom with other vehicles. It is, IMO, ... Read More

My last post in this forum was in July of 2004 and I commented on the "crown sensitive" issue for the 2005 Chrysler 300 series which in effect 'translated' to the vehicle chronically pulling to the right! I got so tired of repeatedly trying to get the problem corrected and receiving a constant dealership litany that the 300 model series is "crown sensitive" [read: pulls right] as allegedly "normal" [!?] that ... After you have completed the above, re-set your adjustment memory to your desired settings and then try the easy exit feature again. Good luck!" Thank you so much, I have been wondering what was going on, and now it is fixed! The seat moves back on exit.
