I installed a 2000 Venture engine in my 1998 Venture. I had to strip the new engine down to the block and heads and reuse most of the original parts such as exhaust manifold, intake manifold w/fuel injection system, all sensors and engine mounts. The vehicles below use the LA1 engine that are probably interchangeable with some exceptions. In the case of the transmission, the same transmission was used in the ... Read More

  • heat when idling

    Written by: pamh1 on Jan 9, 2011 8:28:39 AM

When my 2005 Chevy Venture is idling I have warm air blowing out of the vents. When I am moving the temp gage doesn't even make it past the 1/4 mark and I have no heat. What causes this and where do we start with? My husband says it is probably the thermostat?

I have a 2002 Chevy Venture LT and I had the intake manifold gasket replaced along with new anti-freeze, oil, and oil pressure switch. It was replaced under my extended warrantee. I also had to have the air conditioner condenser replaced for $1000 and it is leaking again. The rear wheel cylinders had to be replaced because they were leaking on to the brake shoes causing loud braking noise and slipping. ... Read More

I am looking at a 2005 Chevy Venture, it's the LS model, long wheelbase, with cloth seats, the 3400 engine, and 192K miles. I've talked the guy down to about $2400 and I'm comfortable paying that, but I want to know what problems the 2004-2005 owners have been having. Was the intake manifold gasket problem licked by then? Are the transmissions still having PCS solenoid failures? Do the fuel pumps still ... Read More

OK, I am no expert, but I have spent several hours researching on the net and calling my two trusted mechanics. The problem is the speedometer cluster. This cluster is common to 2002-2005 Chevy Ventures and I am sure other Chevy vehicles. Google "chevy speedometer cluster problems" or "chevy speedometer cluster recall" and you will find that Chevy has issued bulletins about this problem on other Chevy models, BUT NOT the ... I purchased a 2005 Chevy Venture for my mom but, the driver seat does not have the 4 - way adjustment like the 1999 Chevy Venture that she previously owned. The 2005 driver seat only slides forwards and backwards. I need the driver seat to lower or extend further back for entrance into the van. I have searched the internet for seat base extensions to make the driver seat move further ... Read More

I am in Vancouver, BC have a 2005 Chevy Venture with 115,000 kms - since Christmas I have been getting some really weird stuff happening - was on the way to my sisters when my daughter had to go to the bathroom - let the van idle and then noticed that the temp had ... I have a 2005 Chevy Venture and am very concerned about a recent problem with my Temperature Gauge - normally it's fine, but recently we had a bug dump of snow (not that it's related but I was thinking maybe salt from the road got into something) - when I idled somewhere it climbed into the red really quickly, and then stayed there. With no apparent problems with the coolant or ... Read More

Are you trying to play an audio-only device? Like an mp3 player hooked to the audio RCA jacks? I tried that and it doesn't work for my 2003 Venture. I found on another site a guy who said that it needs an active video input to turn on the aux inputs. Here's what he said: "I need an input to the, "Video In" jack on the factory-installed dvd player in my ... Read More

It is a VRCD500SDU for $100 two years ago (installation kit from Best Buy) and it worked great. It has an auxiliary input, usb port, SD card port. Go to www.roadmasterusa.com/vr3_auto.html to read about the radio, as well as purchasing direct from the company. You can also call the company and talk ... Read More

We have a 2001 with 67000 miles on it (108000 km) - at 17000 miles, we replaced the transmission -- under warranty. We had the fan motor for the HVAC replaced at 11000, fuel level sensor at 12000 (apparently this was very common at the time if you bought certain gasoline) -- under warranty. The lower intake gaskets and a wheel hub was replaced at 29000 miles - under warranty. A/C ... Read More

I was wondering if someone could forward the instructions for programming the remotes for a 2005 chevy venture. My children lost one of my remotes and since it only has one key hold, on the driver's door, I thought it was a good idea to get a 2nd one. I've ordered one on ebay, obviously before I found this site, but it doesn't come with instructions. I found some for a ... Read More

I would definitely go for one with side airbags, if not side-curtain airbags. The Honda Odyssey, beginning with the 2002 model year, had standard side airbags but not the curtains. (one major reason I bought the 2002 versus the 2001) The curtain airbags were standard in all Odysseys starting with the redesigned 2005 models. The Sienna I am not so sure but I'm pretty sure that side curtain airbags were available ... Read More

The only 2002 minivans that had fold into the floor were the Mazda MPV and the Honda Odyssey and neither had the split 3rd row.     I think some 2002 Chevy Venture had a 2-3-2, 2,2,3 or 2-3-3 layout but NOT the nice fold into the floor 3rd row of the MPV or Odyssey which doubled the cargo space behind 3rd row when all seats were in the upright position.     The Chrysler ...
