Well today i understood that overheats at closter is not overheat at engine...why? Cluster is just a display and engine work with temp sensor...some chevrolet clusters have failure: speedmeter, temp and/or gas tank, but it's just the display...I hope this help you...
was starting every few days. replaced fuel filter, its getting gas in it,but will not start at all now. everyone says its fuel pump but it acts like nothing is firing right. misses and does a putt putt, and nothing. battery has died now to!!
I also have an iisue witht he carper on the floor of the drivers side being wet. I did see one post iwth the same problem. That started before the overheating. Is it the heater core hoses or a loose clamp? I am not liking what I am seeing on here. Need to find a new vehicle.
I feel your pain. My 05 Montana is now always blowing cold air when the heat is on. My mechanic wants to start with the intake gasket ($700), but also feels it may be the head gasket (even more money). My family is debating getting rid of the car, but it only has 76000 miles and the body is in great shape. Any suggestions? Thanks.
My van overheats, but not all the time. My husband replaced the thermostat, water pump, and radiator hoses. The heater will blow cold air and then the temp guage goes up. Not sure what to do at this point.
I installed a 2000 Venture engine in my 1998 Venture. I had to strip the new engine down to the block and heads and reuse most of the original parts such as exhaust manifold, intake manifold w/fuel injection system, all sensors and engine mounts. The vehicles below use the LA1 engine that are probably interchangeable with some exceptions. In the case of the transmission, the same transmission was used in the ... Read More
Sarah we just found out that our 2002 Chevy Venture with only 75,000 miles on it has a slipping transmission. Is that normal for those low miles? We had an extended warranty on the vehicle that we purchase when we bought it used in 2004 (was a really great warrant that took us up to Nov of last year - 2010 I think). Any chance of getting some help with that ... Read More
OK, 2004 Venture, same temp gauge issues. Also have ABS light on occasional. Starter seemed to start going, so changed it. ABS light out immediately. 1 week and abs light comes back on. Then van won't start. Not even attempt to turn over, with boost or other attempts. Day later starts no problem and mechanic can't find an issue. 2 days later, won't start again. Lots of power, just no attempt ... Read More

I have this exact same problem with my 2004 Chevy Venture. We have had the windshield resealed and still no luck. Im afraid we are going to ruin our fuse box. Im hoping you resolved this issue? Any help would be much appreciated.
I have a 2004 Chevy Venture FWD only - 140k miles. Had a flat tire on the right front while on interstate about a week ago. Put on donut tire and everything seemed fine. Then, later in the day sounded like a tire rub was happening after reaching about 20mph. I had the blown tire fixed and put back on thinking the sound was the donut tire. Sound is still there, ... I am looking at a 2005 Chevy Venture, it's the LS model, long wheelbase, with cloth seats, the 3400 engine, and 192K miles. I've talked the guy down to about $2400 and I'm comfortable paying that, but I want to know what problems the 2004-2005 owners have been having. Was the intake manifold gasket problem licked by then? Are the transmissions still having PCS solenoid failures? Do the fuel pumps still ... Read More
johnny, I just bought an 03' and I get the "Disabled" message. Have you had a chance to take it in?
I have a 2004 Venture and I have not had any interior lifgts working in my van for about a year 1/2, :( and I have changed fuses and bulbs still no lights and the cigarette lighter don't work either I think mine has some kind of a short.
I've had my 2004 chevy venture for over a year. The speedometer was the first to start going crazy.. it would say 100 when I was only going 30mph. Then the gas guage began acting up.. saying a full tank when it was only half full. NOW the temperature guage has caused me the most trouble! over $400 in repairs. No one has a clue whats wrong with it. it says ... Read More

please tell me what you did to sove this problem. I am having the same problem with my 2004 chevy venture. very frustrating
Once again... Take it to your local car audio shop to debug. The dealership won't know what they are looking at.
Hi all, great site! OK... so minimal problems so far, but sound only through DVD and no picture, LED above DVD player reads " Disabled". Nothing in manual or online, any help? Thanks!
Hi, I have the same problem in a 2003 chevy venture. Did this (see below) solve the problem? 'Pull the eletrical plug apart under the drivers side of the van near the drivers seat and check all the pins in that plug. The main power pin going to the fuel pump might be shorting. Clean it up, adjust for better contact and apply some eletrical grease and reassemble.' Thanks.

My 2004 Chevy Venture has been running funny, it cuts out going down the road on occasion, and sometimes stalls at stopsigns/lights. At this point it starts right back up. When it first happened the check engine light came on and the code P0341(camshaft positioning sensor) was the result. We changed that sensor and the light went out but the problem did not go away, I have tried dry gas, fuel ... Read More

I was wondering if you ever solved your problem of blown fuses for the interior lights of your Venture. I have a 2004 which continues to blow fuses for the interior lights A DAY OR TWO after the fuse is replaced. Any ideas where to start?
I have a 2004 Chevrolet Venture. Noticed the rain leak after heavy rains in California and it continued in Virginia. Things I did and it helped were: THE VENT OPENINGS REFERRED TO ARE THE ONES OUTSIDE, UNDER THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS-NOTE THEY ARE FACING STRAIGHT UP WITH STANDARD HOME SCREEN, NOTHING TO STOP WATER 1. check the plastic piece that fits around the bottom of your windshield. I can not get to the bottom bolt on the thermostat housing. What all do I have to take off to get to in on my 2004 Chevy Venture? Throttle body? Manifold?
Are you trying to play an audio-only device? Like an mp3 player hooked to the audio RCA jacks? I tried that and it doesn't work for my 2003 Venture. Here's what he said: "I need an input to the, "Video In" jack on the factory-installed dvd player in my ... Read More
Panasonic manufactured the DVD players that were in the Uplander/Relay/etc...maybe they made the older ones too?

i have a dvd player built in to my van, i was wondering if there was a way to have the dvd player play in the back and the radio or a cd play in the front??? any help would be greatly appreciated...
John, Well I chickened out and didn't do the work myself (not enough time, but it sounds like could have saved some $$$). I took it the local dealer and they diagnosed the problem and as suspected, the right wheel bearing was kaput. Parts and labor came to 511.00. You were right on the mark. I had an extended warranty, but it ran out about 4000 miles ago. I asked to ... Read More
We purchased a 2004 Chevy Venture 2 years ago. I started experiencing problems with the temperature gauge about 5-6 mos. ago. After replacing the thermostat, we discovered that the gauge was sticking. What I ended up doing was turning the ignition (not to fully turn over the engine) but half way, then off. I did this a few times and it dropped the gauge to zero - problem solved. Now the ... Read More
I am looking for the 3-seat middle row for a 2004 Venture. Chevy wouldn't help at all since they don't make the Venture anymore and no one else seems to know what I'm talking about. I tried a local junk yard but they just had bucket seats or the 2 seat bench seat which has the wider middle seat- that's the set up I have now. No one seems to be ... Read More
I would definitely go for one with side airbags, if not side-curtain airbags. The Honda Odyssey, beginning with the 2002 model year, had standard side airbags but not the curtains. (one major reason I bought the 2002 versus the 2001) The curtain airbags were standard in all Odysseys starting with the redesigned 2005 models. The Sienna I am not so sure but I'm pretty sure that side curtain airbags were available ... Read More

We bought a 2004 Chevy Venture in July 2004. We're up to 16K miles already because it has restored our love of road trips. I regret not getting the seats with the built in child seats. I had a 99 Venture LS that I finally traded in yesterday on a 2004 Ford Freestar (I am sure some people will say I am trading one problem for another). Needless to say, I extended the Ford Warranty to 6yr 75K. We ... Read More
