2001 Chevrolet Venture Plus 4dr Minivan (3.4L 6cyl 4A)

Review

The look of the van is the best part. Performance is excellent. Changed the fuel pump and very expensive radiator in the first year of ownership. A great family vehicle. The extended version would have been better for groceries.

Best Features

Exterior styling is key. Removable seats are handy but heavy. Sound system is good. Built in child seat was great. Roomy interior.

Worst Features

Ignition improvements needed. Noisy engine. Cheaper aftermarket parts. Fuel economy in city driving is mediocre, on the highway it's outstanding.

Vehicle

2001 Chevrolet Venture Plus 4dr Minivan (3.4L 6cyl 4A)

Review

As a previous Dodge Caravan owner, I'm happy with the Venture, and find it as good a vehicle as I might have expected from Chrysler. Gas Mileage is good, it has a solid feel, is peppy enough for a minivan, and has a good ride and a good turning radius. It has the standard 3.4 litre, six cylinder engine and automatic transmission.

Best Features

Peppy for a minivan. The fourth door quickly becomes a necessity. Gas mileage is never below 20, and is around 25 on the highway. Rear row of seats folds forward to create nice cargo carrying area. Turning radius is better than some.

Worst Features

Can't read transmission selector in direct sunlight. Hard to install rear row of seats. Battery replacement looks difficult. Metalized windshield blocks reception of my GPS receiver, as well as my automatic toll-paying device.
