Chevy Venture (2001) temperature gauge not registering
Written by: jordreg on Dec 18, 2005 4:15:53 PM
Has anyone had an issue with their temperature gauge not registering? I have checked the fuses and all seem good. The gauge does not register...or at least move up at all. The coolant levels are good as well. Any suggestions?

Have a 2001 Chevy Venture and I think I'm having the same signal problem. When I signal right with the headlights on and with the brakes applied, the signal on the dash blinks fast, all the right tail lights blink. Have you found the cure?

Standard Features
Written by: sld1 on Mar 14, 2002 6:23:58 AM
I have the 2002 Venture brochure and it clearly specifies that both those things (touring suspension and two power sliding doors) are standard features on the LT and WB. Perhaps that's been a change from the 2001. But I will go to the Chevy site and see what it says. Thanks for the feedback.

One good thing about owning a Chevy, you get a chance to drive other Chevy loaners while your vehicle is in the shop for the 3rd time in Feb for the same problem, erratic door latching. Looks like they have exhausted their diagnostic options, and are now working with Tech Support in Detroit to resolve. They know it's an electrical problem, but can't find the exact cause. They gave me a ... Read More

2001 Oldsmobile Silhouette GLS
Written by: stobar on Sep 18, 2001 6:13:56 PM
I owned a 1997 Chevy Venture Extended Wheelbase with the power sliding door and loved it dearly. Decided to go shopping around last month for a trade in and when looking at the 2001 models, came across some new Oldsmobile Silhouettes on the lot. Now as much as I like the Ventures, I soon realized that the Silo's were a step up, very plush. Dealers are trying to move them and ... Read More

It was a salemans driver car before we bought it.Finally got it started after poking around. We took an hour and a half trip and the whole way my son watched a movie, my daughter listened to a cd and my wife and I listened to the radio. Where has this van been all our life!!! AC Vibrating noise
Written by: olathe4 on Jul 22, 2001 10:09:14 AM
We purchased a 2001 WB edition Chevy Venture van 3 months ago. We love it. Our only complaint is that the AC makes a weird vibrating noise when the van is idling or in park. Does not do this when the van is in drive or reverse. Have had this to the dealer twice for repair. They replaced the fan, but it hasn't helped. Anyone have any ideas about this?

venture not starting
Written by: dsfm on Jun 4, 2001 8:40:28 AM
I have a 2000 Venture LT that we purchased in January 2001 - it had 7600 miles on it and had been traded in (we were told) because the owner lived on the side of a mountain and found that it didn't handle well in the snow and ice, so they decided to get a Chevy Astro AWD. It has been a wonderful vehicle for us, at least until the beginning ... Read More

Further on Cup Holders/Ash Tray
Written by: offham on Mar 28, 2001 7:41:55 AM
Prior to my Venture I had a Lumina APV van which had the cupholders similar to the 2001. Why did they change...??? With smoking on the decrease, Chevy engineers did not catch on to the trend that people generaly do not want ash trays/lighters any more. Soccer Moms and all that. My other theory is that as this van was designed in cooperation with GM Europe, and I bet those guys ... Read More

Ash Tray to Cup Holders ?
Written by: offham on Feb 7, 2001 10:31:43 AM
The new 2001 Venture has cupholders in place of the ashtray and lighter on earlier models. The cupholders on the side of the passenger seat are not that practical, especially if you have to take your eyes off the road to put a hot drink down. I have asked Chevrolet whether it can be a retro fit on 2000 and back, by removing the ashtray and lighter and inserting the 2001 ... Read More

2000 Venture (WB Edition) Impressions

My wife and I bought a 2000 WB Edition Chevy Venture about 3 months ago. Overall, we are very happy with the van (about 3000 miles so far). It's does a great job of transporting our 3 kids around town and so far we've had no mechanical problems with the vehicle. Since I'm convinced that GM employees and designers often "lurk" in these pages, I'm going to use this opportunity to ... Read More

This weekend my wife and I looked at some minivans. The local Honda dealer wants $24,340 for a 2001 Odyssey LX. Also, the wait may be a couple of months for it. We also looked at the 2000 Dodge Grand Caravan. It had the power package and middle bucket seats. The salesman tried to BS us with a quote of $24,300. The funny thing is, there are about a dozen of ... Read More

2001 Chevrolet Venture?

Does anyone have any idea when the 2001 ventures will start to appear on the dealer lots? I checked out www.giggo.com and it sounds like some of the features that cost extra on the 2000's will be included in the 2001. Thanks for the link! I guess I could just go into the dealer and order one?

If it is Venture you are looking for, then I would start with the www.GM.com and select Chevrolet. There you will see all rebates. $2000 off Venture thru 10/2 or financing. Doubt if manufacturer to dealer incentives are published Then go to GMBuy Power. There you can see ... Read More
