We have a 2001 Chevy Venture, bought new. We have a leak in the intake manifold and a hole in the condenser. Our mechanic says it shouldn't be happening and that GM knows but they will not help us. Has anyone else had these problems?

  • Can I add keyless entry?

    Written by: corporal28 on Nov 19, 2002 9:47:53 AM

I was able to add keyless entry to my wife's 2001 Honda Accord LX. I would like to do the same for my sister's 2003 Chevy Venture. Anyone out there know where to buy these "factory" add ons (other than the dealer) and if it's fairly easy? I do not want to buy aftermarket equipment where you have to chop things up. Thanks, corporal28

I have the 2002 Venture brochure and it clearly specifies that both those things (touring suspension and two power sliding doors) are standard features on the LT and WB. Perhaps that's been a change from the 2001. But I will go to the Chevy site and see what it says. Thanks for the feedback.

One good thing about owning a Chevy, you get a chance to drive other Chevy loaners while your vehicle is in the shop for the 3rd time in Feb for the same problem, erratic door latching. Looks like they have exhausted their diagnostic options, and are now working with Tech Support in Detroit to resolve. They know it's an electrical problem, but can't find the exact cause. I owned a 1997 Chevy Venture Extended Wheelbase with the power sliding door and loved it dearly. Decided to go shopping around last month for a trade in and when looking at the 2001 models, came across some new Oldsmobile Silhouettes on the lot. We purchased a 2001 WB edition Chevy Venture van 3 months ago. We love it. Our only complaint is that the AC makes a weird vibrating noise when the van is idling or in park. Does not do this when the van is in drive or reverse. Have had this to the dealer twice for repair. They replaced the fan, but it hasn't helped. Anyone have any ideas about this?
