2012 Chevrolet Traverse LT 4dr SUV AWD w/1LT (3.6L 6cyl 6A)
Began vehicle search for an eight seat SUV with the Tahoe, but after seeing the lack of cargo room behind the third row seats, and the clunky removal of 3rd row seats (instead of folding down into the car floorboard) we ruled it out.
The Traverse offered a surprising amount of room and a more affordable price.
We were impressed with the Buick Enclave, but couldn't find one equipped like we wanted in our region and the price was more than the Traverse for a comparable cloth model. Drove the Honda Pilot and was very disappointed with road and wind noise - felt plastic/boxy. Liked the Nissan Armada, but too pricey. Elected to go for the Traverse 1LT with the All Star Package and AWD.
All Star Package came with cloth heated seats, remote start and 20 inch wheels and a back up camera, never knew heated seats could be so enjoyable!
Also really enjoying remote start on cold mornings. Smooth, quiet ride at 75-80 mph. Heavy, solid feel when underway. Room for 8 people with cargo space behind the third row.
Overall, very happy with choice of Traverse.
Pitiful stereo, my 2009 Dodge work truck has a better sounding stereo in it.
Has satellite, ipod plug and all features you need, just sounds "tinny" with no bass capability, disappointing for a 2012 vehicle in this class. Gas mileage is a bit disappointing as well, seems to be only 1 or 2 mpg better than the Tahoe. Was difficult to find a Traverse in a 2-3-3 seating configuration. Wished back glass popped open separately from the cargo hatch. Cargo rails are "cosmetic", needed a kit to get cross rails.
