Bought the TrailBlazer new in March. We have ejoyed the extra room with our small little family. Also love the power the strait 6 gives us, but with that comes the terrible gas mileage! I have also had it back to the dealer 3 times now for adjustments to the doors because the wind noise is so bad. Tonight I got home and started to roll the power windows up and the driver side completely stopped working. Here is another trip I am going to have to take to the dealer. Other than all of the stupid little problems I am having to put up with, it is wonderful!

Favorite Features

Suggested Improvements

Gas mileage and wind noise are the biggest problems so far.

Lucky if this ride gets 13-15mpg highway! I am getting rid if it. Very uncomfortable seating when you have to travel some mileage. Seats do not adjust for comfort.

Favorite Features

Price when bought

Suggested Improvements

Improve engine to get better gas mileage out of a 6 cylinder. Had same problem with 2003 Chev. S-10 with 6 cyl.13-15mpg Chev get with the program. Looking at Nissan vehicle now.

I had a 2000 and 2001 Blazer before bought the '05 Trailblazer. I am 6" tall and had a hard time in the older models because my head would be in the sunroof--pretty uncomfortable. The '05 sits up higher and the head clearance is taller so I have lots of head room. The back seats are great for the kids (2 in car seats and one not). They are not cramped. I love this truck--the interior is great. I have the dark ebony interior and it is super for families with small children- -you cannot see the stains. All in all I love it and would purchase it again in a heartbeat. I am looking forward to the next model

Favorite Features

The gear shifter not being on the steering column anylonger, the great front seats, head room has more space, great cargo room, love the OnStar and hands free calling.

After five days and only 250 miles of driving my 2006 Trailblazer the left rear tire blew out while driving on the Interstate at 70 MPH. I was able to safely get the vehicle onto the shoulder. When I examined the tire, I noticed the sidewall had seperated from the tire tread. I'm an automobile mechanic and have seen this type of damage many times. It is caused from driving on a flat tire. I had not idea that I had a flat tire, the ride, stability and handling of the vehicle did not give any indication of a flat. To cause the sidewall to seperate, I had probably driven several miles with the tire flat. It handled so well in this situation that I feel very safe driving it.

Favorite Features

Looks, handling, stability and 17 mpg city 24 mpg highway, 372+ miles per tank of gas.

Suggested Improvements

Relocate the ONSTAR buttons so that accidental activation (adjusting rearview mirror) does not occur.

Have only had this car for 3 months, and I'm more than ready to get rid of it. Can't stand the hideous gas mileage I'm getting (13.5mpg). And the obnoxiously loud "ding ding ding" of the interior alert. I was told that when the "fuel low" alert turned on, it meant I had about 40 miles left. It ended up being more like 10 miles-which left me stranded on the highway in the rain! Think this is the last American car I'll buy, most definitely the last Chevy.

Favorite Features

Smoother ride than most SUV's

Suggested Improvements

Fuel consumption, and tone down the alert sound!

I stopped buying Chevys a few years ago.. Decided to give them another chance. I love the TrailBlazer! A great vehicle at a great price. Can't go wrong! More comfortable and faster than my Grand Cherokee Lerado. (4.0L) The ride is near perfect, not like a Cadillac but not as stiff as a pick-up. Just right for an SUV! Now my wife wants one.. The EXT for the third row seats for the kids... I'll trade that minivan for another Trailblazer in a minute!

Favorite Features

Nice power for a 6 cylinder and very nice comfort. Also very quiet ride. Sharp overall appearance. (In black)

Suggested Improvements

So far, the only thing I would improve is the steering. It's not too bad but my Grand Cherokee was tighter overall but also didn't have the same radius than the TrailBlazer

I owned an 2000 S10 blazer LT before this one, what an improvement. 100 more horsepower and better mileage. Build quality is vastly improved, no rattles. Rides smoother. Better handling.

Favorite Features

Heated seats, XM radio, the ability to choose from 2wh, 4wh, 4wl, or auto, rear radio controls.

Suggested Improvements

Better placement of power outlets, headliner could be a little higher on sunroof equipped models.

Went from a 2003 Lexus RX 300 AWD to the 2006 Trailblazer. Very pleaseantly surprised. First American made vehicle in years. Nice features and ride. No problems. Very nice 6 cylinder engine. No regrets so far. The dealership was great with a no nonsense deal that no one else could match. Even my wife likes it.

Favorite Features

Engine, ride, Bose XM satellite radio, heated seats, every nice ergonomics.

Suggested Improvements

None come to mind. I'm satisfied.

Review

After test driving four other vehicles, the Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT was the best drive. We test drove the following 2005 SUVs: The Montero sport - very top heavy and felt like it would tip over if turned too fast, Ford Explorer - very cheap looking in the interior and not a smooth ride, heard some rattling in the front end, Nissan Pathfinder - drove like a truck, interior seats were very cheap looking and also the access to the third row was not easy, Mercury Mountaineer - pretty nice except for the roominess inside felt very tight. The minute we drove the Trailblazer, we knew it was the one. It drives beautifully and is such a pleasure to drive!

Favorite Features

The ride is the top feature because it is such a pleasure to drive, very smooth and comfortable, second feature is the interior design, the 2-tone effect makes it look really sharp and the plush seats are roomy. Also, the air and heat vents being on the roof and floor for 2nd & 3rd row

Suggested Improvements

There are only two things for improvement that I found, one being the sunvisor with the mirror should have a light on it and also a flip up cover, second being an outside temperature somewhere in the inside. Other than these, we love the Trailblazer and highly recommend it!

Review

Traveling down the road in an all- wheel drive Honda Pilot, I was amazed at how poorly it handled in 6 inches of snow. After I got stuck on a hill, I put the Pilot in low gear, pushed a button to lock the rear differential, and again I amazed. But this time it was how easily the Pilot freed itself and was able to move down the road. Living in the mountains of Colorado, this little test proved that I needed something better than all-wheel drive. One of the things that sold me on the 2006 Chevy Trailblazer was its automatic locking rear differential.

Favorite Features

Nice on-road handling for a vehicle that is capable off-road. Standard Electronic Stability Control. Nice 6 cylinder and 8 cylinder engine choices. 36- inch turning circle with 5- passenger version. Automatic locking rear differential.

Suggested Improvements

Front crash test was only 3 stars for the driver, but hey, I’m bigger than a Subaru.
