2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer LS 4dr SUV 4WD (4.2L 6cyl 4A)
My TB has been great except for the fuel economy (13 mpg hwy) and sensor issues. "Service stabili-trak" warning comes on often but resets when the car is turned off so the dealer saw nothing wrong. They never fixed it and told me it was probably just a sensor issue. Around 45k miles, the gas level gauge stopped working which is a pain since it constantly beeps that I'm out of gas. The "check engine" light comes on as a result and it failed emissions but the dealer won't fix it under emissions warranty. My cousin works for a parts dealer and says GM cars have TONS of sensor issues. Firestone told me the same thing. A new battery caused no electrical issues as others have had. AC is great
Love the in-dash readouts for mpg, fuel used, oil life, two trip meters, etc. Rear seat controls include a/c and vents, stereo, and two power ports. Roomy.
Recall sensor issues and repair at no cost. This is a wide-spread problem.
Are your tires properly inflated? If they are underinflated, then put more air in the tires so rolling resistance reduces therefore improving fuel-economy.
I usually get around 20 mpg on the highway with a 5.3 V8 engine
With the sensors.....the Stab-Trk lights .......have them reroute the wires b/c they are too tight :D
There's too much tension on the wires and it's enough to give it a hissy fit all the time.
I've owned my 2006 Trailblazer less than a month and I've been back to the dealer a bunch.
This rerouting of the wires and relieving the tension/pull on them, has kept the light off for several days now.
Our check engine light kept coming on for "misfires" and it was 1,2, and number 6 cyclinders that were dirty.......#6 is still giving us trouble but a STRONG fuel injection cleaner and engine cleaner is a good choice.
My light would stay on 99% of the time, and just last night it flashed.......only to be reset then back on again........which we know is the misfire and is being worked on.
Hope this helps!
