I have a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer. When I am driving the headlights just shut off. It is very scarry because I have a newborn and a 2 year old in the car with me. Chevy should recall this vehicle before anyone gets killed. Also the gas guague show Empty all the time even when it is completly full. And I just spent $800 to have a water pump changed. This is ... I have had Chevy Trailblazer problems from day one also. Its pretty sad when you can call a CHEVY DEALERSHIP SERVICE DEPARTMENT and tell them you have a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer and they can tell you what you are experiencing before you tell them!! The fuel gauge had to be fixed and we only get $138 for reimbursement? Really because while it was there they also had to replace the computer ... Read More

Okay, in regards to the electrical burning part. I was informed this morning that my Electronic Brake Control Module or EBCM shorted out and caught on fire. I was also informed "You're very luck sir because the fuel line runs about 4 inches below the EBCM and that could have burned your house down." I was told to file a claim with my insurance company since this was not a mechanical ... Read More

I also had to replace the camshaft position sensor which is a small device with a short wire that sits on the top of the motor. This is not active when the car is off. The only burn problem I have had is the small wire harness inside the headlights. It actually burned off the bakalite connector.I don't know when this happened as I discovered it when replacing a "failed" headlight ... Read More

Monday the 15th started real sour for me. I've recently gone over 70K miles in my 06' Trailblazer Ext. Around 5 or 6 months ago I had it in the shop what I recall was a crankshaft sensor that went out. Everything has been riding just fine on the vehicle. We did take about 100 mile drive on Saturday and it sat in the garage all day Sunday and overnight. Monday ... Read More

2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer EXT LS problems

I have a 2006 Chevy Trailblazer EXT LS with 65000 miles on it. The car has recently started acting up electrically, I think. When ever I turn on the air conditioner a set of warning lights comes on and the dash starts beeping. The lights that come on are the emergency brake light, the ABS, the Traction control and the 4 wheel drive train, the air conditioner will not blow except ... Read More

Thanks Madisonsmommy! I took it to my local Chevy dealer here in Dallas. The service advisor seemed to think the same thing. I also need to have the fuel sensor replaced. My gas gauge will not even move anymore, and when I fill up the engine light comes on and the engine seems to lose power. Go figure the warranty just ran out :(

I am having the same problem. I have a 2005 trailblazer. For the whining I replaced the Smooth Idle pulley and the alternator. But I do not know what to do about the gas gauge. Chevy offers an additative for the gas tank. I added it yesterday but the light is still moving back and fourth. I really don't want to take it in and have them drop the gas tank. ... Read More

Re: good deal on 2006 Trailblazer EXT [k314]
Written by: Car_man on Nov 1, 2006 2:53:47 AM
Hi k314. Unfortunately, General Motors' normal customer cash incentives are not compatible with its special lease program, so you can't take them into account when negotiating your lease. Besides, I generally find that consumers who are in an area that has a decent level of competition and who shop around can easily beat the TMV number for the vehicle that they want. On a Chevrolet Trailblazer, shoot for as close to ... Read More

I'd be happy to help you out, oakridge067. According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS with an MSRP of $28,910 and a selling price of $27,306.75 through GMAC right now for 48 months with 12,000 miles per year, your zero down, pre-tax monthly payment should be around $337. Hi framirez. I am not aware of any lease cash that is available on the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer in GM's Western region right now. This late in the model year, you should be able to negotiate a capitalized cost of right around dealer invoice on a leftover 2006 Trailblazer without too much trouble. Hi andre1. The $3,500 cash incentive that you mentioned, which has since changed to $4,000, is not compatible with leases through GMAC. GM is providing lease cash on the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer in some regions, but not the Southeast. Unfortunately, I believe that the incentives that you qualify for are based upon your residency, not where you purchase your vehicle. So you have to actually live in an area that has ... Read More

Here's the info that you're looking for, andre1. GMAC publishes lease rates instead of money factors for the vehicles that it leases. You can convert its published lease rates into approximate money factor equivalents by dividing them by 2400. GMAC's current base lease rate and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer with 15,000 miles per year are 4.9% and 66%, respectively. The 12,000 mile per ... Read More

Hi jonscoggs. Unfortunately, the $3,000 customer cash that is available on the 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer is not compatible with leases of it through GMAC. GM is only providing a $1,250 cash incentive on leases of this truck right now. Assuming that the price that you got from the Family First site is not already taking this cash into account, this truck's capitalized cost would be around $28,936. Using this cap cost ... Read More

Hey andre1. GMAC does not use money factors to calculate the interest portion of lease payments. Instead it uses lease rates, that look just like normal interest rates. You can convert its published lease rates into approximate money factor equivalents by dividing them by 2400. If you were to lease a 2006 Chevrolet Trailblazer SS though GMAC right now for 24 months with 15,000 miles per year, its base lease rate ... Read More

My wifes grandfather was an engineer at GM, so we qualify for the GSM price, which is $30,186.33 (again per the GM Family First website). Right now there is $3750 in cash back incentives. I think that Chevy paying off your Toyota is a great deal. As for $389 per month, unless you're getting the SS, I'm not so sure about the deal. Keep in mind that my deal was for the SS which is another $5k expensive. At least here in Los Angeles, there is a huge supply of non-SS Trailblazers and dealers are bending over backwards to sell these. Good luck. Roy
