Driving in the first few gears, it seems the engine seems fine. In the last gear though, when speeds are over 45 miles per hour, it seems as though the truck is just dying. I can be at the same speed of 50 MPH, but I watch as the RPM gauge starts to drop. I have a 2005 Trailblazer and about 9 months after I bought it I was driving at night and my volt meter dropped causing my dash lights, head lights and tail lights to flash like a strobe light. I don't what is happening, maybe it is the engine or transmission because when the car gets hot in the middle of the day than it would switch to a 4 gear and it would always be around 3,000 rpms when you go 65 or 70 just straight road. We are looking at buying a 2005 Trailblazer. From what I've read, the Trailblazers have 3 different gear ratios, the 3.42, the 3.73, and the 4.10. Is there a standard ratio that the TB 05 comes with? I've looked around and there are huge spreads in mileage differences between different cars / owners. Some are getting 18 city and 22 freeway, others 10 city and 15 freeway... ... Read More...

My 2005 Trailblazer head lights flicker at night for some odd reason, I have no clue why and the dealership can not seem to reenact it. I have complained to Chevy and it is currently in the shop for a "certified" report to give to GM. The battery dial also moves when the lights flicker. An suggestion on where to go from here? I am having the same problem. I have a 2005 trailblazer. For the whining I replaced the Smooth Idle pulley and the alternator. But I do not know what to do about the gas gauge. Chevy offers an additative for the gas tank. I added it yesterday but the light is still moving back and fourth. I really don't want to take it in and have them drop the gas tank.
