The dealer agreed to waive their $130.00 "inspection" fee and I am to pay a $200.00 "deductible" to replace both actuators. Please file a report with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. I'm not sure what the magic number is but eventually the reports will exceed the amount and they will force GM to recall the vehicles and fix the latch problem. This issue is not only with 2008 and 2009 models, it has been going on for years.

So it has been 6 days and never heard back from anyone at GM, so I broke down and spent the $100 to get it fixed. Disappointing. I have driven Chevy's since 96 (2 Tahoes), while my wife has had Ford Mustangs the whole time with no problems. Maybe it time to try a Ford Expedition or Explorer.

T tex, The 175 amp fuse I am referring to is located against the firewall on the passenger side under the hood. If you're looking at the battery (on the left) from the front of the truck it should be located above and slightly to the right on the firewall. It's not inside of a fuse box or anything like that, it's a stand alone fuse.

You can set your preferences so that doors don't auto lock. The setting is reached through the buttons on the right side of your gauge cluster.

I have a 2008 Chevy Tahoe and all four power locks have suddenly failed and the dealership here in Vermont, Hand Motors, wants to replace all four door actuators for $900. This seems outrageous for what seems to be a common problem. Is there any type of compensation for this cost?

I have a 2008 Chevy Tahoe. The dome light will not come on when the doors open. I have checked the override switch and I have tried with the switch depressed and then not depressed. No difference. GM Support, I am having the same door lock issue as others in the forum. We have a 2008 Chev Suburban VIN:1GNFK16328J231961 and 3 out of 4 doors have now stopped working. We have 52,000 miles on the vehicle and we were told by Titus-Will Chevrolet (Parkland, WA) that the locks are no longer covered under warranty. Can you provide any help? Thanks, Marc

having problems with door locks on 2008 Chevy Tahoe. Had one replaced 2 years ago when it was under warranty. 2 years later the replacement and the other rear door are not working. Dealer quoted me $300 per door to replace them. Question I ask is GM standing behind this problem? Seems like there is alot of people with the same problem I have. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Go to the dealer and have them update the BCM (Body Control Module) and also test the battery to see if it is bad. Also ask your dealer to check if there is a draw on the battery when the truck is shut off. Christina, All went well - the actuator was replaced by the dealer in about 45 min without cost to me. While I do appreciate them stepping up, I remain concerned that it's just a matter of time until others fail and I'll have to pick up the tab.
