Experience with GM Customer Service
My 2003 Tahoe also has the defective instrument panel cluster. First, the Customer Service department will insist you go to a Chevy dealer to have the problem "diagnosed." Not sure if this will be any use to anyone but I just wanted to mention that I too experienced the special GMC touch when my guages acted up. My vehicle was out of the covered repair limitations so I started to repair them myself. carrie1v, Good job! Most people only have to replace the speedo stepper ($6+shipping), and most of the time the lights aren't involved. I did it in my shop, 4 solder joints for the speedo stepper only. You do want to be careful so you don't make things worse, but it is mostly common sense and care.

I have not had one problem out of my 2003 chevy tahoe. I have 157,000ish miles on it and today the whole instrument panel stopped working. no gauges.. no lights.. no indicators...nothing... I checked the fuse but it is not out...any suggestions

Did you ever figure out what was wrong? My Tahoe passenger door lost all power, windows, locks and heated seats. The key fob stopped working at the same time. Also - when the truck is running and the door is open, it doesn't register on the dash. You can't open the window from the drivers side either. Basically - this door no longer exists. Just noticed that you might have an idea what is going on with our 03 Chevy Tahoe. The Battery is being drained quickly and we've about exhausted our mechanics on what is happening. With everything disconnected even the Alternator it's still pulling around 7volts. Every thing like battery, alternator fuses etc have been marked okay. Any suggestions?

I have a 2003 Chevy Tahoe. When I turn left or right while braking it will cut off. It doesn't do it all the time but did it twice this morning. I'm thinking whatever it is is getting worse.It will restart with no trouble though. I'm not sure if it's just a loose wire or something more serious. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

Suspect a faulty ignition switch, or a main power relay. With an intermittent problem like this, you may have to connect a test wire with a voltmeter to monitor a strategic voltage point.....to see if you can prove or disprove where the voltage may be dropping.

If you do, how is your door locking set-up, i.e. is it set to lock doors automatically from speed or from off-park? Then, is it set to unlock doors from gear selector being on-park? Just ordered a new 2007 LTZ (loaded) to replace my 2004 LT, it is 4-6 weeks out, does any one have any real world mileage experience yet? How close is the window sticker 15 – 21 MPG. Are you running 87 – 89 – 93 octane ? Any electrical problems? Chevy had to buy my 2003 Tahoe back as they could not fix a no start problem in the computer.

They key there is you traded. The actual value of your Tahoe was higher. The dealer needs to make a profit. If you sold it private party I'll guess you would have only lost about $12,000. The Tahoe appears to depreciate because of the wide margin between MSRP and Invoice for the Tahoe (about $6k). Edmunds assumes you bought at MSRP. So in one year when you can sell your Tahoe for ~$3000 less than invoice (real price paid) depreciation really isn't that bad. For a Honda the MSRP and invoice prices are much closer together.
