2002 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 2WD 4dr SUV (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
I bought my Tahoe brand new, within the first two months I had to have the radio replaced and the transmission started having problems not shifting out of 2nd gear, even at 50 mph. At about 6 months the idling arm had to be replaced. The transmission never went away and I returned it under Lemon Law. I then went bought a Silverado, that's a piece of junk too. I'm done with American cars.
Favorite Features
Interior comfort, ride, and handling.
Suggested Improvements
Better build quality, it should have wider tires and 17" rims standard so it doesn't squeel when you turn tight corners.
Tahoe Z71
Vehicle
2002 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 4WD 4dr SUV (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
Like Z71 very much. Had a Ford explorer and this is larger and towing has been great. Have 3500 lbs. camper and you do not you are towing the camper. Great towing power in mountains. Only have 3000 miles on vehicle so cannot commet on reliability yet!
Favorite Features
Style and towing a Plus. Looked a Escalade but did not want to pay $10,000 more for the same basic vehicle!
Suggested Improvements
Would like to see chevrolet add the keyless touch pad on the door!! Have found that OnStar would not work well in remote locations!!!

have owned various suvs including honda crv, ford explorer eddie bouer, 2002 gmc envoy, 2001 isuzu rodeo. my tahoe has the 5.3 and the 3.73 limited slip rear end with leather. that tow/haul switch, the engine power and the gearing all make towing our 6500 lb boat a breeze. i am very pleased. great value.
Favorite Features
go for the 5.3...gobs of power, smooth, sounds great, good gas mileage. the leather is nice too. very quiet interior
Suggested Improvements
bigger wheel options, courtesy on headlights not mirrors, better stereo, easier oil reset method
I should have bought one years ago

2002 2WD 5.3L LS Black with front buckets. What a great ride! Gobs of room for people and gear, lots of power, Great Brakes! I don't mind making a car payment after avoiding that for 12 years.
Favorite Features
Auto headlamps, lots of power outlets, Cargo area accessibility and room, turning radius and how small this truck is on the outside considering how big it is on the inside. Easier to park than my old Caprice and more room and comfort too.
Suggested Improvements
Better fog lightsand bigger wheels and tires.

We traded in our 97 jeep cherokee sport for this, and the difference (obviously) is night & day. Love the driver's seat memory.

Wonderful Tahoe

2002 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 2WD 4dr SUV (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
I have thoroughly enjoyed my Tahoe, especially on road trips. The ride is extremely comfortable. The truck has incredible power. I did not intend to get the third seat, but now we can't live without it. We can pack a ton of people in it.
Favorite Features
I really like the liftgate tailgate.
Suggested Improvements
I would not change a thing.
THE SUV to Own!

2002 Chevrolet Tahoe LT 4WD 4dr SUV (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
I traded my 96 LT 4WD Tahoe for a 2002 LT 4WD. What a difference! I loved my old one, but the new generation leaves the old one way behind. Better pep on the highway, greater comfort (the old one was very comfortable), attractive interior design, better amenities inside, quiet, solid body design and structure....get my point, yet? This is an awesome truck. Once you buy one, you won't go back. My wife will only drive foreign cars, but...she seeks to make an exception in this case. She constantly tries to switch with me. The 2002 Tahoe will turn your head, and change your mind.
Favorite Features
Engine power, ground illumination mirrors, interior quiet and COMFORT, perfect for hauling people (especially w/ third row seat), heated seats/mirrors
Suggested Improvements
Easier entry to third row seat, Front Passenger floor mat needs to cover all of floor board

2002 4WD 5.3L LT w/ Autoride suspension Loaded w/ all the bells & whistles except the sunroof which I don't really care for. This is my 1st big rig and it's surpassed my expectation. Exterior styling is conservative but looks good. Gas mileage is good for an engine this size. Autoride is a big plus when come to towing. I replaced the orginal tires & wheels after the 1st 2 wks owning it and now it looks better than ever. So far no problem.
Favorite Features
Very quite, roomy, comfortable ride, & well manner after a 3,000mi+ long trip from Portland to LA. Turning radius is imazingly short for a full size rig' even better than my Chrysler minivan.
Suggested Improvements
Should come w/ bigger wheels & tires, stock wheels make the truck look wimpy. Dash layout is little outdated. Exault is kinda noisy.
