Review

I have had my Chevy Tahoe for nearly 2 years. The power and space are great. The third row seats come in handy when transporting a large group of people. The problems that I encountered include a faulty theft deterrent system, bad starter, rear brake pads replaced twice, a faulty heating coil in the passenger side mirror and squeaks when making sharp turns.

Favorite Features

Onstar, Home Link, audio system, rear heat and air, third row seats, alarm, keyless entry, and center console

Suggested Improvements

Improve the theft deterrent system, starter quality, heated mirrors and front squeaking on sharp turns.

It's a good Suv for a big family. HTey should try to lower the gas milege.

espace & power, has class outside but not inside.

Suggested Improvements

They should install more Luxury in side to be comparable with hte same cat.It look Sheapppppppppppp. They should work with the back to make them flat

Overall very good.

Suggested Improvements

1) Throttle body needs to be redesigned to alleviate problem with unstable idle which requires a $150+ cleaning about every 25000 miles. 2) Storage box area on right inside rear needs to be bigger and the lid needs to be designed better.

Review

This is my 3rd Tahoe; 1994 4x4 2DR Diesel, 1999 4x4 LT, and currently 2001 4x4 4DR Lt with Autoride. I have had wonderful experiences with all. My favorite however is the comfort of my 2001, it is an absolute creampuff, and it is all factory - no modifications, but all the bells and whistles. The gas mileage is better now with the new Vortec engines and smaller tank.

Review

I just bought my 2001 Chevy Tahoe and I couldn't be happier. I use it to pull my 19 ft boat and I can't even tell that it's behind me. There is no better looking SUV out on the road right now than the Tahoe. Chevy has done an excellent job building this machine. It is rugged like a truck, yet comfortable like a luxury car. I love this vehicle!

Favorite Features

Towing capacity and sleek design. The 5.3 engine does OK on gas and provides plenty of pep.

Suggested Improvements

The middle compartment between the front seats should open from the front, not the driver's side only. Passengers need access to this at times.

Review

I've had my Tahoe for about 2 years now. I still like it as much today as the day I bought it. This will be the first vehicle I have ever kept for more than 2 years.

Favorite Features

memory seats, power sunroof, onstar, third row seats etc. etc.

Suggested Improvements

improve the plastic interior door step trim, seems to come off every time you kick it. wished it didn't have traction control so I could play a little more :0)

Review

I did a lot of research before I bought my brand new 2001 Tahoe over two years ago. I read about the build quality and the problems when the new Tahoe was introduced in 2000. Sure, you worry about things like that, but two years later I love my Tahoe as much as I did the day I bought it. I've done all the schedule maintenance and haven't had a single problem. I use it as my commuting vehicle (80 miles daily) and it's never let me down.

Favorite Features

Great engine! Comfortable seats, great air conditioning system (front and back), lots of room, small turning radius for a full size suv, terrific looking suv.

Suggested Improvements

I see that the 2003 has the adjustable pedals. I would have liked to have had that feature. Bigger stock wheels and tires.

Review

The only problems I have had with this vehicle has been the heating element in the driver side mirror, the door strap hinges squeeking, and carbon buildup in the throttle body which caused a sticking gas peddle. The dealer replaced all hinges under warranty, I haven't had the time to get the mirror repaired. I got rid of the carbon build up with a Tornado.

Ride, room acceleration and power. Leather seats provide great support

Better outside rear view mirrors

I love the way this truck looks, rides, confort, Great in the snow. One Mojor complaint Lousy gas miliage only 11 mpg. For the money I would have gotten the Suburban version instead. The mpg's would be the same and I'd have more room. Brakes are so-so leave plenty of distance

I have owned several brands of SUV,'95 Montero (a mechanical nightmare), '00 4Runner Ltd-4WD,small inside,metal so thin the hood flapped, '01 Exped EdBauer 4WD (worst gas mileage you could imagine and really poor service from Ford in Nebraska and Florida).I wanted to tell you what I had previously so you have an idea what I'm comparing the Tahoe to.I paid 34000 for an '01 LT 4WD Autoride.I was immediately impressed by the quality of the vehicle.GM has a better finish than the 4Runner.Handling is amazing.First off, it is one of the quickest out there, it posts a zero-60 in 7.6 seconds.The gas mileage is 19.At 75mph the engine is at only 2000 rpms.
