Your truck should have the 5.7L "L31" V-8, with a Central Sequential Fuel Injection system. Here is a basic starting option: Instead of rotating the key to the "Start" spot when you first get into the Tahoe, turn it only to "Run". Wait several seconds while fuel pressure builds in the system, since the fuel pump will be activated until full pressure is achieved. Then, without turning the key off, go ... Read More
Greetings, My ’98 Chevy Tahoe, 223K miles has become slightly difficult to start. I must turn the engine over for two seconds wait three seconds then hit the starter again for two seconds, then it runs and runs like a top. This started in August and occurs independent of heat or humidity. If it has been recently driven it also starts right up. I have replaced the spark plugs, high tension ... Read More
Buddy who works at a GM dealership got it for me for that price with his discount. think it was around $70 without discount. This is for the 4 button system with 4wd auto. part #19168765 if you need it. Kinda got lucky with them having 1 in stock.
When replacing your switches did yours have the 4 button system or three? If you have the 4 button system (4wd auto being the 4th) where did you find the switches for $55? Thanks Troy
keep blowing fuses for the transfer case fuse #2 in block of fuses on drivers side of dash. replaced fuse and was fine for awhile as long as I was in 2wd but when trying to switch to 4wd it would blow. replaced the switch cluster in the dash for the push button 4wd and went to try engaging 4wd and it blew again and now everytime I go to put ... Greetings, the passenger seat heater is not working on all settings in my 1998 Chevy Tahoe. Fuses checked, and voltage to seat. Any thoughts? Thanks for your insight. I am developing an ear ache as a result of this discrepancy.
So I have to pose a question to all those out there in computer land who are smarter than me or happen to be mechanics or have had this issue before. I recently purchased a 1998 Tahoe with the right side of dash push button 4x4 with the auto 4x4 and the previous owner stated he was driving it in 4Hi and when he went to go into 2Hi it wouldn't ... We have a 2007 Chevrolet Avalance 1500 LTZ. The Transmission, under acceleration from a stop-light, made a POP sound, then revved up to redline. The transmission only had Park, Reverse, and 1st gear. When revved up in first the transmission would whine. This vehicle had only been put into 4 wheel drive once to make sure it worked, when it was new. This vehicle's mileage is mostly highway, very few city ... Read More

No no you got me all wrong I'm not asking for buy/sell offers. I'm asking if anyone thinks that it is still possible to get a 1997, 1998, or 1999 Two Door Chevy Tahoe with a 6.5L Turbo Diesel with less than 100,000? Thanks :)
I've fell in love and there is just about nothing anybody can say that will make me break my infatuation with the Chevy Two Door Tahoe. I love the way it looks, as a mean yet not to big but not to small truck. I like the SUV body style because I'll be able to use it more because I don't need a truck bed everyday. Well there's the story now ... Read More
