I have been driving Chevy Tahoes since 1995 and this is my 3rd Tahoe. I, like many others on this forum, am very frustrated with the door lock problem. The driver side front door lock stopped working in May and now the driver side rear door lock is now not working. What a pain? I called my local dealer and they say the problem is currently not under recall. How can ... Read More

I have been buying new Chevy trucks & SUVs every 3 years since 1995. I previously owned a 2005 Tahoe and now have a 2008. Since buying the 2008 I have had the transmission seal go bad and two door lock actuators go bad. I am now needing to have my driver door lock actuator replaced again!! No more Chevy products for me. I'm trying another brand.

I have a 1995 Chevy Tahoe (it's a 5.7L, 4x4) with about 156K on her. My issue is a loss of power when the truck is accelerating in drive; it feels, sounds, and drives like it's a transmission issue. The problem started when I was accelerating up a fairly steep hill, the truck shifted down into 3rd to maintain 60mph and when I crested the hill the truck no longer would ... Read More
Then either your alternator is not working properly and keeping your battery charged, or you have some parasitic electrical drain. The better autoparts chains can do a battery and alternator 'load test', where they can test that the alternator is putting out full voltage and current. Have this done first. You may have a bad diode in the alternator. Once you know the alternator and battery are in excellent shape, verify ... Read More

I just replaced the battery for the 4th time since 2009. The batteries usually only last about 3 months in this vehicle for some unknown reason and they are all Brand New batteries. Usually the battery will die (not sure why I think there is something that is sucking the juice out of it, but haven't found what it may be yet). I'll test the battery and see if that may ... Sounds more like the battery is dead. When a battery is going bad, it will generally hold enough voltage/charge to power the things that don't take much power. However, when you go to try and use the starter (which draws over a hundred amps), the battery can't supply the power needed, and you hear a click click from the starter solenoid trying to engage. Most autoparts chains will check your battery ... Read More

The other day I went out and started my truck. It hasn't been started in about a week. I let it run for a bit and moved it around the driveway. Parked it back in it usual spot, turned it off, and locked it up. The next day I went out to take it to the store and it would not start. I put the key in, it buzzed, radio came ... Read More

I have a 1995 Surbaban that only blows air from the defrost. The A/C stopped working the next day. I checked the freon level and it was ok. I also checked the compressor and it worked ok when I sent 12v direstly to it. What can I check next. The a/c button on the dash seems to flicker but nothing happens. Thanks Steve
Hi I'm currently in the market for a two door tahoe. Well I wanted to ask a couple of questions considering this will be my first SUV and my first Chevy. First I'm looking for a Two Door Tahoe or Yukon that is no older than 1995 or 1994 (depending on conditions). Second I want the 6.5 Tubro Diesel with no more than 150,000 miles. Is what I am looking for ... Read More
I am looking for feedback on why a Tahoe with 136,000 miles rear end would break apart. Just put two new tires on the front end but not the back. Had new pinion seal and exhaust system replaced. A few days later the truck would not drive and the mechanic said the rear end had broken apart. Where is best place to buy replacement?
I got a quote for over $700 to do the 30k mile service. It appears the dealers are all adding the fuel injector/valve cleaning whatever they are calling it service to the normal maintenance. I think the consensus here is that the Tahoes WILL need the injectors/valves/whatever cleaned, but not until 50k miles or so. I also think that running crappy gas might add to the carbon build up, etc.....most people ... Read More

My 2000 Tahoe came with the same tires stock, not exactly the bet tires (putting it nicely) as far as im concerned, at 12,000 miles i had to replace the tires. Also Yes we had a 1996 Tahoe and that body style 1995-1999 had terrible steering, very lose and you were always moving the wheel, however i think Chevy REALLY improved in the new body style.
