We bought our 2004 Chevy suburban is 2009 and it ran fine for about 1.5 years. In December 2010 the batteries started to die. We replaced the battery and thought maybe that was the problem. Three week later the battery dies, so we replace it again..Took it to the auto shop in March 2011 and they stated it's just a bad battery and I asked what about the alternator??..They acted like ... This seems to be a major epidemic with Chevy's door lock actuators... I bought a 2009 Tahoe and we love our truck. Like the commercial Chevy runs deep in our family. We have bought a 2006 Trailblazer, 2009 Malibu, and my wife's baby the Tahoe. We're very disappointed with Chevy lately, how does two actuators go bad the same time. I know parts are supposed to be replaced on vehicles but ... Read More

We have a 2009 Suburban that we bought last May 2010 (Certified Used Car). When we first looked at the vehicle I noticed that the right rear door lock did not work and told the salesperson. We ended up buying the vehicle a few weeks later and they apparently had fixed it. Starting in December the the right rear stopped working, then soon afterwards the front right, and then the rear ... See my earlier post #253 about the GM recall in this thread. Note GM updated the recall in 2009 to allow up to 80,000 miles but you had to pay for their labor to remove and take out IPC panel. Takes 10 min and they typically charge $200. still a rip off. http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/direct/view/.f11f710/252#MSG252 I have another post here that describes how to take out the IPC and also where I got ... Christina, I am sending you my service request number through e-mail. Unfortunately, the fuel tank pressure sensor replaced last week DID NOT HELP whatsoever with this problem, and I am having my Suburban towed the 4th time to the dealership. I want this engine issue elevated immediately to a district specialist who supposedly can investigate further into this case and perhaps change something more important, like the engine, to fix this. ... WOW!! Boy, after reading all of these problems with the 2009 Suburban, I think GM needs to step up and have a recall! Since January 3rd of this year, my 2009 LTZ with only 26k miles has been in the shop 3 times for reduced engine power while driving. The first visit they reset a few things and cleand the throttle body. The 2nd time it happen was 10 days later ... Read More

The 2nd time I had this problem, the dealership even charged me for this problem as they claimed the car hit a rock or something on the road that caused the problem and I was right ... Read More

We have a 2009 Chevy Suburban and we've had our suburban in several times due to a high pitched noise inside the car, which after several visits is now for the most part gone. Our other issues is the very loud idle which several people have commented on. The most important issue we have and what really scares us is that our car has stalled 6x now. The last one being ... We purchased this vehicle in July 2009, which was an upgrade from our '03 Tahoe. Late last Fall my wife was driving to work on the beltway (70 mph) & the Suburban just shut down on her. Hi, I have a 2004 Suburban Z71 with 53,000 Miles. The car is in great shape and I love it. The only problem that the car had was the bearings, this happened close to 40,000 miles (out of waranty). The GM changed the bearings and I asked them to pay part of it as this problem should not happen so soon. GM paid for the labor and I did pay the ... Read More

Just my own opinion but why in the hell would you go buy any GM vehicle at the moment? People in their plants are waiting for pink slips. You think they do their best work during these days? I can assure you that some of the problems in GM vehicles are not due to normal manufacturing problems. The other thing is that you cannot have your vehicle fixed under warranty. This ... Read More

Well unless you intend to rip into a new truck yourself, I'd take it back to the dealership to fix. If it ISN'T the gas, then it'll be fixed under warranty. If it is, well, then you'll have to pay the bill but at least you'll have it definitively resolved. Then you can try and recoup from the gas station, which unless you've kept all of your receipts might be hard ... Read More
