2005 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 LT Rwd 4dr SUV (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
We decided to purchase a used Suburban and after plenty of research and waiting we finally bought a fully loaded LT. We wish we would have bought it sooner! It has everything we need; Plenty of space for us, 2 dogs, and luggage. We have 2 little kids and the DVD is a must and a life-saver on any trip! We've had no issues with it and I've put about 7000 miles on it now. I switched to Synthetic Oil and a K&M air filter and I now get about 1.5 MPG better fuel mileage both in town and on highways.
Favorite Features
Room, DVD, ride, quietness, and quality.
Suggested Improvements
None that I can think of.

My "bus"
Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Z71 4WD 4dr SUV (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
This is my 4th Suburban and all I can say is they keep getting better. This one is a loaded Z71. All I have done is change oil and 1 set of tires at 65K miles. I am now taking it in for a 100K mile going over for some deferred maintenance. Still has original brakes.
Favorite Features
We own this for the space. I have owned 2 dr pick ups, 3 door pick ups, a Blazer and a Tahoe. The "bus" gets my Lab inside with the people where it belongs with all of our people and gear on the many hunting/fishing/golf combo trips we do. The ride is the best and it goes through deep snow the best.
Suggested Improvements
A little better ground clearance would help when you have to drag the truck belly through deep snow.
My First Suburban

Review
This is my first Suburban. My last vehicle was an Avalanche and I totally loved it, but I wanted a covered cargo box and my wife didn't like the Avalanche caps that were available. So I was looking and saw the Suburban that we purchased a 2005 with only 28,000 miles, Red with tan interior, plus it also came with an extra set of 20" chrome rims and low profile tires. The original tires and rims were included also and those looked like they had very few miles. I have driven the Suburban for almost a year and absolutely love it. It is very simialr to the Avalanche, but now I have the covered cargo area, and it works prefect for me. The only thing I wish it got about 2-3 miles more per gallon.
Favorite Features
Color combinatation, red exterior and tan leather interior. Every option available. Previous owner was the owner of the car dealership I bought it from, and he ordered it loaded.

My Third and Best Suburban
Vehicle
2005 Chevrolet Suburban 1500 Z71 4WD 4dr SUV (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
Was a little disapointed that it was made in Mexico, but that has taken a back seat to being in love with the quality and workmanship. Would have loved for it to be union made, but think it is a great value for the bucks. I pull a 30 foot camper trailer and a boat with it for family trips. Pulled a 30 foot boat from VA to Grand Lake, CO without a single hiccup. Performed well at high altitude as at sea level. Good brakes coming down Berthoud Pass. All in all a home run for Chevy. Not a grand slam, but a solid home run!
Favorite Features
The heated leather seats, followed closely by the DVD entertainment system, OnStar, and XM Radio. The seats are comfortable, but with the arm rest down feels a bit tight. Really love the moonroof and luggage rack. Back of the rack has a roller which makes getting the canoe on and off a breeze. A+
Suggested Improvements
Make third seat a little less cumbersome to pull out. And beef up those little plactic clips for the floor panels in the back of the second seat. I broke on within a week of taking delivery and the second not long after. Still a very happy camper!

I've had this Suburban for almost 2 years and love it. I pick up me new Suburban next week. This has been reliable (45,000 miles already and only 1 minor problem covered by warranty), comfortable and great ride. Only downside is the gas mileage.
Favorite Features
Ride, comfort, and overall features.
Suggested Improvements
3rd row seat should fold under the floor.

I really have to say that this SUV is wonderful. The heated seats, navigation and back up sensors (dealer installed) are wonderful. It is roomy and the DVD keeps my children quiet which is Priceless. The vehicle is a smoother one than my previous Expedition. The take off is much quicker and the seats are very comfortable. I would tell anyone with kids to buy this if you want peace of mind. The on star is a added security feature I cannot imagine being without.
Favorite Features
DVD, navigation system, heated seats, OnStar, and hands free calling.
Suggested Improvements
Every Suburban owner should have the back up sensors they are wonderful.

Got to Love it !

I purchased this vehcile for two reasons. First just always wanted one, I've always owned GM products from my '69 Camaro, '71 Chevelle, Sonoma pick up, to Grand Prix and multiple other vehicles. Second of all safety for my large family and towablity.
Favorite Features
Sun roof, glass lift in the back, tri zone, dvd,6 changer, OnStar, everything the truck has I'm in love with.
Suggested Improvements
I'm a big guy so the third row isn't a problem getting it out. But some kind of fold down system would work better. Sometimes you need to haul goods at the last minute and can't leave the third row at the store or over a family members house.

I was on my way to pick up a Toyota Seq. and stopped at one last dealership. My wife fell in love with the Suburban and I have been stuck with driving our minivan ever since. We travel a lot with our 3 kids and always have a lot of gear. With kids, get the split bucket seats in the back for easy entry to the far rear seat. I have towed my 3,000 lb boat with a loaded truck on a 2500 mile trip and it was a breeze. It's been about 18k now and not a problem yet. We love the room, comfort, DVD system and the handling in the snow. I am very impressed. If it weren't for the employee pricing last year, I would have never stopped to check it out. I have owned Highlander, Camry, Odyssey, Audi
Favorite Features
Comfortable seats, lumbar support, huge storage, Bose stereo, DVD, quiet ride, easy controls, trip computer
Suggested Improvements
DVD Screen blocks rear view from mirror, gas mileage, no jacks in far rear for wired headphones
