My 2005 Suburban has ho power in the morning. I must remove the battery cable and reattach it and then it starts up. The battery and starter were replaced by chevy and this still happens almost every day. I could spend hundreds of $ and no one will do the work without an hourly estimate. Was yours fixed?
I have a 2005 Tahoe with 86K miles and the same speedometer issue everyone has posted about here. I took it to the local dealer this morning for the speedo issue and the CEL came on over the weekend. I then found this site about the Chevy wide problem. So when the dealership called me with what was wrong and the cost (they wanted about $500 to replace the instrument cluster). ... Read More
Are you aware of a cluster problem with 04 Tahoe's? I own a 04 Tahoe and the gauges became erratic. Over time all my gauges were effected and I had to have the cluster replaced. That is when I learned of the wide spread problem. I had it replaced about a year ago, and at that time, there was a "discount" for the cluster depending on the miles on the vehicle. ... Read More
I bought a new 2007 Chevy Suburban that now has 27,000 miles and the left front wheel bearing is so bad it looks like the wheel is ready to fall off. I had to replace the front brake pads and rotors at 17,000 miles. Warranty wouldn't cover. Dealer said that was normal. I pull a 3000 lb. gross weight trailer once or twice a year for firewood maybe 10 miles max. ... Read More
Hey shaykia, did you ever find out the problem here??? MY 2005 is having a simlar problem- the heated seat just comes on for no reason... I think I have a stuck switch or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
My 2nd row rear seat latch broke trying to push a sofa into my 2005 GMC Yukon without putting down latched up floor board. So now my floorboard just leans on the 3rd row seat. So I removed the latch by putting a key between the edge (upper and lower) and the fabric and pushing the clip that retains the latch to the seat. The latch easily popped out and I ... Read More
Not sure if this will help but look at the recall Chevy had in October 2005 on the fuel module resorvoir. Certain 2001 models had prbolems with the fuel pump when the gas went below a quarter of a tank. My will cause a fuel stall or no start condition. My wires overheated in a gas station burning a hole in the connector body and I dumped fuel while on vacation ... Read More
I am fixing up a 2005 Chevy Suburban that was laid over on it left side. I shipped my 2005 Chevy Suburban to Saudi Arabia where I work. Then I purchased exact the same radio with GPS from a salvage dealer in MD to replace what is in it as the screen is broken. I have a 2005 with 66K on it and my speedo went out. Chevy stated that I was not in the recall but may be under the case action settlement which is pending. My ext warrenty covered it but cost me $100.00. I complained to Chevy and they sent me a $200.00 voucher for any service which I used today. Try that...

I had the same issue on my 2003 Suburban at 42K in fall 2005. I was going 45 MPH and the speedo was at 120 MPH, as well the fuel gage bounced between half-full and empty. Cost me $414.38 to replace the cluster because it was out of 36K warranty. Flash forward 2 years to 4 Oct 07, I get a letter from GM on my husband's 2004 Silverado stating the ... Read More

Sounds like you may have driven a slightly damaged transmission to the point that it can't be repaired, and you need a new one. I had a 96 that was not shifting into 2nd gear (and also later found out reverse was out). Drove it less than a mile, and then had it towed to a transmission shop. I saw the failed part and metail pieces, and luckily because I didn't ... Read More

I had to have it towed back to the dealership here in town ... Read More

Just found this from a Google search: Is anyone else having this issu? I have an '05 Tahoe. I hear a low sounding front end rattle/squeak that is heard when going on any uneven roads or bumps. I've looked at all the TSB for the Tahoes/Suburban/Yukon and I found the following TSB: Suspension - Rattles/Squeaks From Front of Vehicle Bulletin No.: 03-03-08-002B Date: November 30, 2005 TECHNICAL Subject: Rattle/Squeak from Front ... I also had the steering column fixed at about 22K miles. Rear liftgate handle snapped off at about the same time (both warranty repairs). Other than that no problems. Fuel economy for the life of the vehicle shows ... Read More
That's interesting. Was any more specific info provided? I have the same thing, a 2005 pruchased late that year for a song. The new Consumer Reports just came out and my 2005 Yukon XL/ Chevy Suburban dropped significantly to "well below average" for: 1) Suspension 2) Drive System I bought mine at a Red Tag Sales 12/05 so I am several months behind everyone else who has seen these problems. Any insights into what is wrong in these areas?
Yukon seems to have a few more standard features, like the third row seat, locking rear diff. Things may be different now, but when we compared our 2005 Yukon XL to the Suburban, we went with GMC because Chevy packaged the options together including some things we didn't really want. I guess GMC believes they have some prestige people will pay for as well. I didn't care one way or the ... Read More

I strongly recommend buying now and taking advantage of lower prices and quality.
