Based on your estimate of 2.5 years of storage, I would do the following: 1. Drain fuel tank---either you'll have to suck the old fuel out with a pump or drop the tank. Add fresh fuel 2. Change fuel filter and buy a spare one 3. Replace the battery, clean the cable ends. 4. Remove the spark plugs and squirt a teaspoon of light oil (ATF, Marvel Mystery Oil, etc) into ... Read More
Hello fellow motorheads, I'm looking for a checklist for rehabbing a 97 Burb 2WD that's been sitting in a barn for 2.5 years. Recently i replaced the 5.7litre 350 in my 1997 suburban. Because of the wiring harness getting in the way i disconnected it and removed the engine and tranny as one assembly. Well after re-installing the new 350 back into my truck and hooking everything back up i noticed that the transmission wouldn't go into reverse and wouldn't change gears when i test drove it. Can anyone help?
I have a 1997 Chevy Suburban LS 2WD I bought used in 2002 with 50K miles on it. Between 40 and 50 mph, it has a whirring noise that I thought was going to be trouble. My mechanic said the 10-bolt chunks made these noises and was nothing to worry about. After towing boats (3000 lbs) and adding another 75K miles, I have had zero problems. But I did change over ... Hello Everyone, I'm looking for a replacement air intake filter for my parent's Suburban. I'm not trying to put in anything like a cold air intake, or K&N. Before purchasing a filter, I wanted to see if anyone out there has any recommendations regarding the available brands of air filter being sold in the market. I've heard the air filter for suburban is ... Read More
