2012 Chevrolet Sonic LTZ 4dr Hatchback (1.4L 4cyl Turbo 6M)
Review
Just purchased a week ago. Car rides and handles great. Had a hard time finding the turbo model - bought it sight unseen as it was in-transit to the dealer. Makes driving enjoyable again (my previous car was a mini-van). Getting great fuel mileage, so far, averaging about 36 with a high of 41 (and that's doing about 70 on the highway). Comfortable seating and looking forwards to a cross-country trip this summer.
Favorite Features
The engine. Between the turbo and the variable valve timing the engine pulls in the first 4 gears from idle to high rpm smoothly. Power everything (except for seats) and built-in bluetooth make the car feel like a much higher class vehicle. Steering is wonderfully precise and the overall handling is outstanding.
Suggested Improvements
Improve the throttle response! What some reviewers are attributing to turbo lag seems to be more a function of the fly-by-wire throttle. Under some conditions (such as blipping the throttle during a double-clutch downshift) the computer seems to ignore the input entirely, while responding normally under others (blipping it from an idle while at a standstill).
