I have the duramax Diesel. I love this truck. I haul a 3 horse gooseneck and never know it's there. Handles great in the snow, gas mileage not bad for a big truck. No problems at all with it. I have had this truck going on 6 months have put 8,500 miles on it and it drives like it did the first day i bought it. I love this truck..

Favorite Features

Allision transmission and the 6.6 L diesel. Sound system.

Suggested Improvements

Offer a little more options in the LS. Not everyone wants leather when working with horses. Would be nice to have a DVD player for the kids on long trips.

Review

This vehicle is really fun to drive, has excellent power and comfort. The Duramax Diesel has plenty of power for any job you might have, and has good fuel economy for such a large truck. After adding a K&N Air Filter and a Hypertech Power Programmer, I am averaging about 20 MPG. I love the XM Satellite Radio and have had no problems with the vehicle after 20,000 miles.

Favorite Features

The Duramax Diesel's power and fuel economy. Overall apperance and comfort of the truck.

Suggested Improvements

Make a trailer brake control standard.

We truely love our Silverado. It is our family vehicle, our camping truck, our bad weather truck, and long distance vacation transportation. It has everything we ever wanted, or will ever need, in a vehicle.

Favorite Features

Design, power, strength, versatility, and quiet, comfortable ride.

Review

No complaints with this truck. This is my second 2500 HD Diesel in two years. My '04 I got all of my money back on trade for the '05. You can't beat the interior space, comfort and ride. I tow a 30' travel trailer weighing approx. 9500 lbs. loaded with ease.

Favorite Features

I like the Duramax Diesel for power and improved fuel economy over gas engine. The grade braking feature is great on the Allison transmission. The electric extention camper mirrors are very convenient. Onstar and power lumbar/heated seats are nice comfort features. Great sound with Bose stereo/CD.

Suggested Improvements

Would like to see more interior color choices and a larger sunroof opening. Needs more tire and wheel options.

Review

My '05 crew cab, short box,4x4,Duramax is a pretty good truck, except for the fact that it gets 10-11 mpg @75 mph.Seems all '05's are having this problem while the '02-'04's are enjoying 18-19 mpg.The worst thing is that after spending over $44,000, Chevrolet admitts they have a problem but have no fix and don't seem to be to worried about fixing the problem.

Favorite Features

Suggested Improvements

Chevrolet needs to improve the milage to justify the almost $6000 up charge for the Duramax or refund all of us that bought on reputation of the milage that the older trucks had.

I'm on my second 2500HD with the 8.1 and the Allison. They're AWESOME trucks. My new one is totally loaded and includes the sunroof. Cool design. The power of these units is unreal. They get a little thirsty, but they're worth it!!!

Favorite Features

Bose Stereo's, XM radios, Sunroof, Heated Leather seats.

Suggested Improvements

Leather in their bench style seat.

Quite the change from plain-jane 1500 series. Love the firm ride and the off road capabilities. Everything is right within reach of the driver.
