Duramax is awesome
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 4dr Crew Cab LT 4WD SB (6.0L 8cyl 4A)
Review
With the dmax/allison combo is by far the best truck out there. Excellent fuel economy and absolutely no problems. Fun, fast and comfortable truck to drive. A real head turner and performs like a race car. Awesome.
Favorite Features
The Duramax is wonderful. Plenty of power and better mileage than a 6.0 or 8.1 liter. Passes everything including gas stations.
Suggested Improvements
maybe an extra power outlet in the front. Only has one plus lighter, but who smokes nowadays anyway.

This is the finest vehicle I have ever driven. It is powerful, roomy, and extremely comfortable. Even in it's brand new state, the Duramax engine gave me 16.2 mpg on a recent trip.

purchased new and now have 3,500 miles on the odometer. love the 6.0 vortec, has great power through out the rpm range. tows my atv's and trailer like nothing!! the 410 limited slip is great for my back woods hunting. even though it is 2500HD, it will take you alot of places in 4 low. (i opted for the manuel shift transfer case which i love!) and still acts great on the open road. buddy has a 2003 f-150 and another a 2002 dodge, this vortec blows both of those boat anchors away! good job chevy!!
Favorite Features
steering wheel controls and limited slip differential w/tow package. awesome!!
Suggested Improvements
beeter fuel, less noise from hd tranny (dealer said its normal for the hd trannys to whine and hiss due to the heavy duty gears,(overkill on tranny for 3/4 truck they said!) i bought extended warranty just in case!!
fantastic truck

Very solid, the more weight towing the better the ride.Great visibility.16mpg on hwy,15city after 5000miles. Very comfortable front seat. Manual 4X with automatic, only way to go.
Favorite Features
Hauling and load capacity. Factory ground clearance. Cup holders out of the way yet easily assessable
Suggested Improvements
Rear seat ok on the short rides, but long could use more padding. Put the electric seat back on pass. side on cloth interior.Put 2 plug accessory back in dash.

2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 4dr Extended Cab Work Truck Rwd SB (6.0L 8cyl 5M)
Review
Had a few problems in the begining, 1. Faulty control valve on heating system. 2. Alignment problems. 3. Paint defects that were not fixed before taking delivery of the vehicle
Favorite Features
Plenty of towing power. Really like the steering wheel controls for the radio
Suggested Improvements
Place the cruise control on the steering wheel instead of the driver option buttons. Replace the parking brake with a system similar to the chevy impala, press twice to release instead of pulling release. Make gas peddle less sensitive, everytime you hit a bump you rev the engine.

You need to test drive one to truly appreciate and comprehend the engineering miracle of Silverado. Go on, take one for a spin, unless your afraid of being converted.

Purchased this to pull a 5th wheel. Has all the capabilities to do what I wanted. Better ride and interior than I expected in a 3/4 ton. Gas mileage is about 13 now but only have 1500 miles in it. May improve. Have not been back to the dealer yet with any complaints. Can tell more later.
Favorite Features
Ride, interior of the "LT", Camping mirrors, Strong engine/tranny/trailering package.
Suggested Improvements
Could shorten turning redius. My previous Suburban could turn shorter.
Duramax Diesel
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 4dr Crew Cab LT 4WD SB (6.0L 8cyl 4A)
Review
I owned a Silverado with the 6.2 Detroit Diesel, and it now has over 300,000 miles. I bought the new Chevy with the Duramax for serveral reasons, but the Duramax and Allison transmission make this truck a truly great vehicle. There is literally no comparison in the market, and the improved torque and horsepower on the Duramax is an incredible feat. The fuel economy is up substantially, and the emissions are down. I look at this truck as a vehicle that will last past the point of wanting to keep driving it. This is a great truck!
Favorite Features
The XM satellite, onstar, heated seats, and other amenities make this truck very comfortable to drive on those longer drives. I'm getting between 18.5 and 20.5 miles to the gallon on the highway.
Suggested Improvements
I would like to see better leather on the seats, more sound buffers under the hood and around the doors to help dampen the noise of the loud diesel.
