'04 Chevy Crew Cab with Quadrasteer
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4dr Crew Cab LT 4WD SB (6.0L 8cyl 4A)
Review
This truck is great. It rides nice and has the power to pull. It is actually our family car. This truck is our answer to the Minivan. 2 adults, 2 kids, and 2 dogs. Plenty of room. The wife and the kids drive it more then me. The interior is great, and has more features then most new luxury cars today. My wife loves the fact that it has quadrasteer. She can park this 20' truck in spots tighter than most cars. It has a tighter turning radius than our S10 Blazer. The quadrasteer also give me great stability when towing a trailer. However, with the quadrasteer you can only get the 4.10 gear ratio, and that means low fuel economy. I wish they had the quadrasteer with a 3.73.
Favorite Features
Interior is very nice, Quiet, comfortable. Quadrasteer is awesome! Memory seats. Smooth ride, great on long trips.
Suggested Improvements
Different gear ratio when you get a quadrasteer axle. Needs 3.73. Auto dimming mirrors don't work well when topper is on. Power steering pump whine, has been replaced twice (under warranty, next one will be aftermarket pump). OnStar stinks. Never pay for it.

'04 Chevrolet
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4dr Crew Cab LT 4WD SB (6.0L 8cyl 4A)
Review
Plenty of power from the 6.0L engine. Fuel mileage has been 14.5 mph in town and up to 17 mpg on the highway with the 3.73 ratio. It also makes light work out of a trailer. It's a comfortable way to travel with up to 4 adults.
Favorite Features
Heated leather seats. Reserve power from the 6.0L.
Suggested Improvements
Leather on front seat cushions.

Silverado 4x4 2500 HD ex cab
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4dr Extended Cab LT 4WD SB (6.0L 8cyl 4A)
Review
Absolutely the most dissapointing purchase of my life.It shakes badly between 70 and 80 mph. I don't tow heavy and don't off road it it has stock rims and tires and it's on it's third pinion bearing. I can't trust it to travel. And it dosn't even have 25K on it yet. My 99 RAM had 145K and I would trust it to this day anywhere anytime.
Favorite Features
Chevy loyalty. And an undeserved good resale value.

Smooth Ride
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4dr Crew Cab LS 4WD SB (6.0L 8cyl 4A)
Review
Great driving vehicle for a 3/4 ton! Have never ridden in a smoother riding 3/4 ton. Interior is nice, roomy and comfortable.
Favorite Features
Power! Has great towing power and is very reliable. Also cab is very quiet, hardly any road noise.
Suggested Improvements
My biggest complaint is I think the door trim should go all the way back to end of the truck like some other models.

More motor!
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4dr Crew Cab LT 4WD SB (6.0L 8cyl 4A)
Review
Truck is comfortable, roomy and above average to drive. Power and mileage are awful! The 6.0L is terrible. My last truck had a 5.3. I thought the 6.0 would be better. Wrong. Chevy should junk this motor. All around 11 mpg. Towing 24' boat, 8 mpg. Either a diesel or a Titan is next.
Favorite Features
Room, and steering wheel radio controls
Suggested Improvements
More power and MPG!

2500HD Duramax: Solid Powerhouse!
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4dr Crew Cab LS 4WD SB (6.0L 8cyl 4A)
Review
I have owned this truck (2500HD w/ Duramax) almost one year and have loved it. Great power, solid truck, smooth ride(for a truck). Not sure why build quality is mentioned as an issue. I have not had any issues with mine. I would wholeheartedly recommend it.
Favorite Features
Duramax power, dual climate control, crew cab seating
Suggested Improvements
More cupholders (on the crew cab)

Heavy Chevy
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4dr Extended Cab LS 4WD SB (6.0L 8cyl 4A)
Review
This vehicle tows like nothing I have ever owned. Mileage is well within expectations. Both on and off road performance is very good but suspension is very stiff when not loaded. The numerous standard features are greatly appreciated. Am having problem keeping front wheel alignment with 4 W/D system but not excessive.
Favorite Features
Dual climate controls. Convenience of contols for accessories. Trailer towing option on transmission.
Suggested Improvements
Accessory power outlet in rear seating area.

Silverado 2500
Vehicle
2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 4dr Extended Cab LT 4WD SB (6.0L 8cyl 4A)
Review
A pretty solid truck. The 4 door extended cab comes in handy for loading the kids or groceries. Not real happy with the gas mileage which is an average of 15 mpg. However the 6.0L vortec delivers tons of power when needed. With the towing pkg option you can almost forget you have a tailer behind you. No complaints with the 4X4 system in either mud or snow. The steering tire combination tends to grab and dip in a little on quick maneuvers or higher speed turns, but no doubt that also has to do with the large size of a 3/4 ton.
Favorite Features
Dual climate controls, strong engine
Suggested Improvements
More power plugs. The 98 had 3, this model only two.

Never buy a vehicle from Koons in the VA, MD area. Horrible to deal with. However I do really like my truck and enjoy driving it. My biggest suggestion to Chevrolet would have to be for them to add rear A/C vents for the rear passangers. The next suggestion would be for them to put larger tires on the 2500 so they look more truck like instead of an overgrown car. Make it look like the Z71 ext cabs. There is to much open wheel well space.
Favorite Features
My favorite features would have to be the ride and comfort.
Suggested Improvements
Rear A/C vents and larger tires
