Bought this truck after trading Avalanche with 175K Miles. Like the 5.3 ltr and new 6 speed auto is a nice upgrade. Truck gets average 17 miles combined and 19 to 20 when doing highway driving. LT with allstar package is a nice combination of upgrades. Really like the ride, solid build and comfortable on long trips.

Always ask for dealer diagnostic test copy. In some cases they simply clear codes to sell the vehicle, without fixing anything that caused the code error. I did not even get home with my truck and the engine light came on, took it to my mechanic he tested it and 10 codes had been cleared. So took the truck back and got my money back.

Good Truck for the money

Overall, the 2013 Silverado 1500 is a good truck. It's not necessarily the fastest or most powerful truck out there. I tend to look more for reliability and easy to use (especially when it comes to internal electronics--radio, cruise control, etc). Yes Fords have the newer tech in some areas, and their trucks are faster and but I like the tried-and-true engine that GM tends to keep using (ie. the 4.3 Vortec which has been around for the past 2 decades or more). The 6-speed automatic w/ manual control and the 5.3L V8 is a very nice combo to get for moderate towing and fuel economy. Crew cab provides enough room for adults in rear seat.

I am sorry to say this truck is a beautiful truck but started falling apart at around 90,000 miles 3 outside door handles broke check engine light started coming on and off both front headlights burnt out lever for both front seat reclining broke off and now I am told I have a bad engine nothing but 1 thing after another worst vehicle I ever owned 2012 Chevy double cab Texas edition all the chrome all the bells and whistles beautiful expensive and not worth a crap I bought it 3 years old with 30000 miles on it ok for about a year or so but everything started falling apart starting with the exterior parts you would think a Chevy PU would go the ex mile but don’t be fooled I have had several people tell me the 5.3 instant eco engine was made to save gas but the oil doesn’t get to the back of the engine and causes the engine to go out. Worst purchase I have ever made.

I've had many vehicles, but this is the first new vehicle. This one has the chrome package, 20" chrome rims, chrome trim, mirrors, and door handles. I love the looks of it. It now has 4300 miles and am averaging around 17 MPG. The instruments are easy to read, and the controls are easy to reach. The seats are comfortable, the handling is responsive and the ride is pretty smooth. It took a little getting used to the cylinder deactivation as it seemed a little sluggish when accelerating from a stop. However, when you need power, its there. I occasionally pull an 18 foot fiberglass boat and hardly know its behind. All in all a very nice truck, and the rebates made it hard to pass up.
