Chevrolet Silverado Prices Paid and Buying Experience
Tough to beat this deal
Just bought a 5.3 LB WT. Had air, Z85 suspension and dealer installed bed liner. Didn't want the bed liner, but nobody else around had a 5.3 LB WT. MSRP $20,890, $21,118 with bedliner. Well after the main $1500R, Memorial Day $1000R, Pre 1/22 R $1500, Private Conquest $1500R, GM Card $1500R, GM Card Bonus $1000R, I used a total of $8000 in rebates. I thought I would ... Re: Never owned a Chevy, BUT.... [hpspringer]
The vehicle sounds like its msrp would be around 34000. Since an 07 used probably wholesales for about 13000+ less, (check on kbb.com,nada.com) 10000 off a new one would be around what you want off. (and a good deal) The dodge ram 1500 msrp 38000 regularly sells for 12000+ off. (a mediocre deal considering its hi msrp and 07 used wholesale ) and can be had for more ... Read More...
Never owned a Chevy, BUT....
Currently driving a 2003 Ram 1500 with towing option and towing the max at 8500 pounds. With 100k miles and moving to a slightly larger towing load, I just started looking. Today at a Dodge/Chevy (small southern town) I came across this: 2007 (new) Silverado 2500HD 2WD (that's all I need since I am 100% highway) LWB with: -5 year/100k Drive Train warranty -2LT and ... Current pricing 2007 v. 2008
So, its starting to look like the difference between a 08 and 07 right now is about $1500 after rebates. For that difference, I can get what I want/color options (ext. cab long bed is not common here), and for the first few years, anyway, the one year newer would help resale value if I need to sell. Also, it appears that the 08 are flex fuel and cylinder deactivation ... Read More...

Re: Delusions can be fun but reality ultimately bites [skytop1]
Like I said before......you obviously have a lemon, if you even have a Denali. As for customer service, I'm sure you get the worst of it when you walk into a dealership with the attitude you carry. No one at that dealership wants to hear you talk sh*t about GM the way you do. I own a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado, a 2000 Chevrolet Express Regency Conversion Van, a 2006 Chevrolet ... Read More...

Re: Did I get a good deal on this truck? [northga]
You want 6000-8000 off msrp for a truck that wholesales 10k off msrp 1st year. See how much interest you saved over a 6% loan (higher if you have dinged credit) and add it to the amount off msrp. Don't know what your taxes and fees are in your state so its hard to tell. On the surface it looks pretty good. Why do folks wait until the deal is done to find out what is a good deal? ...
