Re: 2006 Silverado 1500 Blower fan Issues [trijet]
I have never personally heard of anything like what you described happen. I frequent several GM boards none of which reports anything like above. If you find your dealership hard to work with on warranty issues, give GM customer service a call and they usually can refer you to another Chevy dealership in your area. With what you describe, I don't think that the ... Read More...
Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Brake Problems
Re: 2006 silverado brakes [lssu1771]
OMG! I too have a 2006 Chevy 1500 w/36k miles. Recently we noticed a grinding type noise in the left front. We pulled the tire and could see gouges in the rotor. We took it to a brake shop thinking the pads just needed to be replaced and the rotors grinded down. The brake shop told us to take it back to the dealer that the left front rotor needed to be replaced and that it ... Read More...
Chevrolet Silverado Prices Paid and Buying Experience
Tough to beat this deal
Just bought a 5.3 LB WT. Had air, Z85 suspension and dealer installed bed liner. Didn't want the bed liner, but nobody else around had a 5.3 LB WT. MSRP $20,890, $21,118 with bedliner. Well after the main $1500R, Memorial Day $1000R, Pre 1/22 R $1500, Private Conquest $1500R, GM Card $1500R, GM Card Bonus $1000R, I used a total of $8000 in rebates. I thought I would ... Re: 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ext cab rough ride [keytonkid]
You do have the heavy duty 1500. Also, the reason for the back to be higher is gas milage and no you should not remove the blocks as this could change your drive shaft angle which could cause vibration under hard acceleration. And as far as torking down your torsion bars, thi will not stiffen the ride much at all but if you go to high, the upper control arms will hit the ... Read More...
Article Comments - 2007 GMC Sierra Denali Full Test
Re: Delusions can be fun but reality ultimately bites [skytop1]
Like I said before......you obviously have a lemon, if you even have a Denali. As for customer service, I'm sure you get the worst of it when you walk into a dealership with the attitude you carry. No one at that dealership wants to hear you talk sh*t about GM the way you do. I own a 1990 Chevrolet Silverado, a 2000 Chevrolet Express Regency Conversion Van, a 2006 Chevrolet ... Read More...

Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Rough Ride
I have a 2006 Silverado Crew Cab 1/2 ton 2WD. It has the stock suspension, shocks and tires on it. It is very bouncy from the day I bought it new. It does fine on smoth surfaces (what doesn't), but when I hit the freeway with concret slab sections, the truck bounces like a bronco at any speeds over 45mph, almost making the passengers sick to their stomach. One thing I ... Read More...
Re: 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ext cab rough ride [jneal]
You can take the blocks out with no ill effects, other than sitting a little lower if you really load it up. I took the same blocks out of my 02 Z71 4X4 ext cab with no ill effects. Just need the std 2wd u-bolts (2 in. shorter). Levels the truck out and makes the bed more accessible. I admit raised trucks look nice, but the little lower height makes it nice to load and unload ... Read More...
2007 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra - First Impressions
Wish I had waited
I bought a brand new 2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 ext cab 4x4 in May 2006. I truly love my new truck, but I just got a chance to look over a new 2007 Silverado and I know that I should have waited! I absolutely feel that this new truck is going to set the standard for the next 5 years. Even with the new Tundra (which from pictures doesn't even come close to looking as good as the ... Royal velvet shackles were originally made by BF Goodrich who discontinued them. Here's a link to another one that's similar don't know if this one is discontinued. http://www.truckmoxie.com/products.asp?sid=18&lid=1062&lpid=15022&cid=&ptid=134&- search=Hangars%20&Category=Suspension Read More...
Re: 2006 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ext cab rough ride [keytonkid]
"This week I talked with the service manager of the dealer where I purchased this truck. He advised me would not be acceptable to remove this block; it would only cause additional problems." Believe what he told you. When you start raising or lowering the rear end you change pinion angles etc and set yourself up for all sorts of driveline vibrations/problems if ... Read More...
