That is true, they don't cover it over 70,000 miles. There was recenty a lawsuit was won, where they now have to cover it to 80,000 miles here is the link http://www.speedometersettlement.com/ It is too bad a lawsuit is required when GMC knows they have a defect. Our Volvo had an issue and they voluntarily extended the warranty on the part to 10 years or 200,000 miles. ... Read More...

I called our Chevrolet dealer and asked about the recall and was told that it was for vehicles that were 70000 miles and below. Well mine is over 100000 miles and the speedometer went to 120 for a day and then the next day it apprears to be ok. I haven't checked the mileage yet with my garmin to make sure that it is correct now. Read More...

We had the same grinding noise this week on our '04 Silverado 1500. Inner right rear pad was worn down metal to metal. The other 3 pads in great shape. Repair place had a copy of chevy bulletin 00-05-23-005B, dated May 27, 2003 explaining this problem affecting trucks from 1999-2004. Both GMC & Silverado half tons. I have a 2003 chevy 1500 hd 6.0 litre,..w/ 93k miles...It is overheating quickly, i can start it cold and in 5 minutes its overheated,..The engine does not miss or run rough,it runs very smooth,The service engine light isnt on...There isnt any water in the oil, The water pump and thermostat are new,..the radiator looks very clean,..I cant find any water leaking ... I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado 1500 Classic. In January I will be leaving for Tennessee in the mountains...My rear end is basic and one wheel is always spinning in the rain.. The vehicle sounds like its msrp would be around 34000. Since an 07 used probably wholesales for about 13000+ less, (check on kbb.com,nada.com) 10000 off a new one would be around what you want off. (and a good deal) The dodge ram 1500 msrp 38000 regularly sells for 12000+ off. (a mediocre deal considering its hi msrp and 07 used wholesale ) and can be had for more ... Read More...

I am not sure its the front rotors and calipers ...are a problem.. but rather the symptom. I have put new rear calipers from SSBC on my 2003 GMC Sierra, not sure it matters what type, but rather the rear calipers are swapped for something that works. I also added brake SS-lines.
