I have a 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 2wd extended cab with 5.3L v8 that now has 194K miles on it. I routinely get 18 mpg here in Tulsa, OK area driving 30 miles one way to work. On the highway on long trips I have gotten above 20 mpg consistantly. i have 2000 silverado 1500 ls with same problem. i can't get any lights to flash, only 4lo. if you find a fix please let me know. it's not the switch because i took it out and it shifts my dads 2004. thanks for any help and good luck Read More...

Can you let us know what was wrong with your 4WD? I have same problem with 2000 silverado. Driving in woods a stick lodged under truck near transfer case and now 4wd HI won't work. Only 2Hi and 4Low work. Thanks. Read More...

2007 silverado Had it 12 months bought new 5.3L auto. Been in shop 8 times for vibration and noise problems at 1500 and 2000 rpm, at 1500 rpm I shift down so I just stay in 8 cyl just to avoid noise. Got the runaround at first then they handed me a bulletin #06-06-05-001B that states vibration and noise is normal when engine is in 4 cylinder . I belive thats their new way ... Read More...
