ok i have a 1999 chevy silverado 1500 5.3l v8 4x4 ex. cab, and iam having problems with the tranny and sometimes it works good but when it does it fell like it has a shift kit in it and then it quits working and you then you have to shift gears by had and then it fells like you do have first or drive, and also when it does it the truck has no power at all i mean it is very slow but ... We had the same grinding noise this week on our '04 Silverado 1500. Inner right rear pad was worn down metal to metal. The other 3 pads in great shape. Repair place had a copy of chevy bulletin 00-05-23-005B, dated May 27, 2003 explaining this problem affecting trucks from 1999-2004. Both GMC & Silverado half tons. Like I said before......you obviously have a lemon, if you even have a Denali. As for customer service, I'm sure you get the worst of it when you walk into a dealership with the attitude you carry. I have two 1999 Silverados one a 1500 with a 5.3L and the other a 2500 with the 6.0L. The exhaust manifold bolts on the left and right banks are broken off. The Chevy dealer charges over $450/labor plus parts on each bank provided that they dont have to pull the head off.
