  Well, finally did it....got rid of my 97 Silverado and purchased a 2001 Chevy Silverado 2500HD LT with 8.1 and Allison 5spd auto. with 4.10 gears. Two complaints, Onstar was a pain to try to setup at dealer and I have to go back as they couldn't download the info to my truck as there were too many clouds blocking the signal...sheez...hope I never have to use it in an emergency... ... Have a 2001 ext. cab 4wd short box 2500HD in LS trim, 6 liter, autotrans, Indigo blue outside, graphite interior , cloth buckets seats, trailer tow pkg., roof lights, locker rearend, optional polished aluminum rims, on/off road tires, and maybe a couple other factory options I can't remember right now.
