2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LS 4dr Crew Cab 4WD 5.8 ft. SB (4.8L 8cyl 4A)
Just want to say that this vehicle has been a good ride so far. Have a 2008, 97000 miles and BAM!!! get this flashing signal that say's service stabil-track control and traction control, and my engine light flashes....Well, take it to the dealer, they call back saying it is a broken valve spring #3...if that doesn't resolve the engine light they say they'll have to change the manifold....Im sorta lost....can anyone help out????
im sorry to hear that. does the truck have AFM/DOD (active fuel management)? i have a 08 crew cab with 5.3L, great truck till 100k. got the same warning. then misfire in cyl 6, then a slight sqeaking sound. ended up being a lifter failed and chewed up my camshaft and lifter. its a huge problem with these 4 gen trucks. not so much on the 4.8L from what ive seen. I had to change the cam. and i deleted the afm crap so there is a lot more stuff to change out but i dont want that problem again. There are kits to delete the afm and while your in there might as well do some upgrades.
Good luck, hope its still under warranty. Also there is a chevy tsp about this issue. do your homework, the dealer dont like rebuilding or replacing the motor.
