I have a 2010 silverado 1500 same drivetrain etc. Same problems, which didn't begin untill 10,000 miles. My local Chevy dealer says they cannot find any problems, but REALLY?? This thing drives horrible now! I dread getting behind the wheel of the truck which I absolutely loved the first 10,000 miles. This is frustrating because there are so many posts claiming the same problems and once again, the dealerships play dumb! ... Read More

I have a 2004 Silverado 1500 Z71 that was bought new in 2003. On 4/17/08 I applied the brakes while going aprox 25 mph. The pedal went to the floor and a Red warning light came on. I was fortunate enough to steer the truck into a Church parking lot without injuring myself or anyone else. I opened the hood and found brake fluid pouring out near the firewall. The brake ... It sucks you're having these issues with your truck. No vehicle is perfect, every company has had its share of recalls. I have owned a 2001 silverado 1500 with ZERO issues and I mean zero. I traded it in @ 125,000 for a new 2004 1500 extra cab with the cluster issue everyone is talking about but again ZERO issues other than that @ 160,000. One has to expect to put ... Read More
I would be very interested in your outcome . I own a 2004 Chevy Silverado 2500HD with the whole undercarriage rusted, I bouught this truck used from a dealership 2 years ago and the undercarriage was black, I started noticing the rust about a year ago. If this is something that cant be fixed, I would be very interested in a class action suit. My email is ritaseay@msn.com.
I am 54 years old and have owned Chevy all my life, new & used.I now have a 2004 silverado 1500 the speedometer went out.The oil gauge went out. And now the RPM gauge is going out.I am currently trying to get my 04 silverato fixed. That is around $500.00.dollars. Will that go out to?
My truck is haunted! AC goes nuts, DS seat heater comes on and roasts me intermittently. Dash instruments intermittently work, DS AC intermittently blows hot air when PS blows cold. Please any suggestions? I think the problem is a ground going bad somewhere. Can anybody point me in the right direction? Thanks,
it may have a miner effect. one way to get an idea of how much change has occured is to use a garmin that shows speed. it does not use vehicle components to determine speed. so it will be somewhat more consistant than your speedo. the change should be less than 5 mph.

the 20" tire is 31.90 around and the stock 235/75r16 is 29.84 not sure about the revs per mile. a 265/70r16 is around 30.2 and is about as large as can be used with out hitting the front fenders.

We had the same grinding noise this week on our '04 Silverado 1500. Inner right rear pad was worn down metal to metal. The other 3 pads in great shape. Repair place had a copy of chevy bulletin 00-05-23-005B, dated May 27, 2003 explaining this problem affecting trucks from 1999-2004. Both GMC & Silverado half tons. Well, let's see. My '06 crew cab Z71 has a 5'8" bed which is a good compromise considering the rear seat space and leg room. When on level ground does the truck roll forward when the brakes are released? Depending on the slope of the hill, I would think most vehicles would roll backwards unless your idle is set to 1500 rpm.
Regular cab work truck, 4x4, automatic, long box, a/c, cruise, V-6, AM-FM. Sticker price $23,625 minus Chevy rebate $3,500 minus dealer incentive $1,763 minus trade $500 equals $17,862. Need to know if this is a good price. Thanks!
