Chevrolet makes a pretty good pick-'em-up if powerful engines are your thing. But it has a ways to go to match the Ford F-150 and Toyota Tundra when it comes to the quality of the materials and assembly.

This is my third Chevy/GMC truck since
1997, but my first 4WD. I have had
great luck with this one. NO problems
at all. These trucks continue to
impress me. The only ting that I think
could have been improved is the grill
design and they took care of that
starting with the 2003 models. Great

Bought my '02 Silverado reg. cab SB, 4800 engine in November. I was skeptical about the quality but have been completely satisfied. Tight, no wind noise, everything works well. Love the CD player/radio. After 4,000 miles, it's been perfect. Doesn't handle as well as my last two trucks (Ford Broncos), but the engine is responsive and strong. Wish it didn't come with Firestone Wilderness AT's. Styling is smart, not overly done like the grotesque Dodge Ram.
Only minor changes are made to Chevrolet's bread-and-butter Silverado pickup for 2002. Some options packages have been revamped for easier ordering and all extended-cab models now come standard with a four-speed automatic transmission, with the manual no longer available.
