Same issue only I have the 5.3. Did you find a soloution to this issue? had all plugs, wires, fuel pump replaced 2 months ago. any suggestions?
First off. How did you change the cap and button on a truck that does not posess a distributor? When they started installing the coil packs in fuel injected motors they ruled out the need for a distributor.
I think my problem has to do with my fuel system...On a cold engine it studders or completely lags when accelerating in 1st then kicks into 2nd pretty hard. I just replaced my transmission about 2 months ago. Any ideas? Thanks

We had the same grinding noise this week on our '04 Silverado 1500. Inner right rear pad was worn down metal to metal. The other 3 pads in great shape. Repair place had a copy of chevy bulletin 00-05-23-005B, dated May 27, 2003 explaining this problem affecting trucks from 1999-2004. Both GMC & Silverado half tons. Excessive wear to right inner pad caused by mud being slung from front to rear ... Read More
Like I said before......you obviously have a lemon, if you even have a Denali. As for customer service, I'm sure you get the worst of it when you walk into a dealership with the attitude you carry. I have two 1999 Silverados one a 1500 with a 5.3L and the other a 2500 with the 6.0L. The exhaust manifold bolts on the left and right banks are broken off. Well, it sure is great to be on a message board with "real" chevy lovers. Anyway, I have a 1999 silverado 1500 with 160,000 miles. I've only had two problems with it in the past 6+ years, and those are replacing the transmission and brakes, everything else works perfectly, and I have driven this thing hard. Sorry if this is a duplicate posting. I own a 1999 chevy silverado 1500 4x4. The other day I was driving approx. 55 mph and began to slow down to approx. 45 mph. Thanks for the input, given how long my postings were I was afraid no one would read them. Good news, he got the truck back yesterday and everything seems ok. I am trying to maintain a positive attitude and treat this as a reminder of the importance of an extended warranty, which means being careful to do the required maintenance at the correct times so that it is easily enforced. I have a follow up to my previous posting, # 688, as noted at the end of that posting, but not in the Title, I am looking for advice on what to do for an extended Warranty. One option I didn't outline, but am considering, is to get a shorter term such as 3 years / 36K miles just to get me through the first couple of years but with the ... Read More

Hi everyone - I usually hang out on the Mazda6 board (as you can prolly tell from my name), but my husband owns a 1999 Chevy Silverado 1500 4x4 pickup (not the Z71 version). And since Edmunds has such good advice from other owners, I thought I'd post here. Last night he was driving home - about a 40-minute drive - and a "SERVICE 4WD" light was lit the entire time. ...
