mine does run alot better.. i still hear that slight pingin when pedal is pressed more than halfway or goin up hills... not sure what it is.

Hi Chaney6366: It sounds to me like the cat converter did the trick for you. I have tried it all and I still can't figure this thing out. i had a fuel pump installed by dealer last year... i was told to check fuel pressure.. it might be a bad fuel pump? i replaced fuel filter last week. now mine doesnt have a loss of power though.. just that slight pingin.. you must get a gage to check fuel pressure.. this wll determine if the fuel pump is workin.. i think the pressure should be around 65... with key ... I Have the same problem with mine Chevy s-10 4.3l vortex 2002 Pickup. I changed the ignition distributor, fuel filter and cleaned terminals on computer and still I have the loss of power and the pingin. Please let me know what else I can do. This has even baffled my mechanic Anybody out there that can Help??

Check recalls... there have been two recalls on ABS system... one they replaced computer and one was a hose clamp. my 1994 S10 has had the entire system replaced back to the wheel cylinders and my mechanic won't warrantee the work after the 3rd time my brakes went out. good luck!

Need help, have been having a bad electrical issue, truck is running and and when the the ignition is shut off the truck continue to runs but if you turn down the dimmer switch the truck will shut off. Mine was/is doing the same thing. The cable is messed up underneath the plastersol coating at the battery lug. I can't see the corrosion but I know that's the problem. I can shake and yank the cable and it will work fine for a while. I've been carrying a replacement in the tool box but haven't got around to it yet.
im not shure what exactly your problem is but the computer does not need to be reprogramed after a battery disconection that i do know. it does sound like you have a short in your wires though. i only know of one way to find out. break out the test light. hope this helped

You can find the Helm books at www.helminc.com. The manual for the 1986 S10 is part number ST36986K and it is $75.00. You better check it out, though, but I'm pretty sure that is the right number. Make sure you have the engine/body grounds tight and working. There should be one right near the windshield washer motor and maybe another one somewhere on the firewall. Sounds like it could be a ... You can find these manuals in almost all auto parts stores. There are Chilton's, Haynes, and many others. If you need it more specific, try Helm, Inc for the same manuals the dealers use. Be prepared to pay over $100 for Helms, but it is COMPLETE.

I have the same problem with my 2000 Chevy S10 Blazer. The power windows don't work at all. The fuse is fine, but the wiring diagram says there is a 30 amp circuit breaker that I can not find in the I/P fuse panel or in the under the hood fuse box.
