Love my Monte!
Vehicle
2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LTZ 2dr Coupe (3.9L 6cyl 4A)
Review
We have had this car 2 years now and it's been a pleasure to own and drive. Only problem we've had with it is the Tire Pressure Monitors malfunctioning. Otherwise, nop problems. A very solid feel this car has. It hugs the road and handles great in all weather conditions. The 3.9L engine provides plenty of power on the highways, which is our main type of driving. The fuel economy isn't all that bad, but i didn't purchase this car with fuel economy in mind. For what we paid for it, we got much more car than we would have gotten from any Japanese import of the same price. I love my Monte, and it's sad to see the MC nameplate disappear, probably for good, unfortunately.
Favorite Features
Exterior styling, Dual Stainless Steel Exhaust, Great handling in all weather conditions, Quiet, Comfortable Ride. Front wheel drive coupled with 17 inch tires and traction control.
Suggested Improvements
Blind Spot is rough; you can't see much when you look behind.
Not sure on this one..

Review
I bought an 06 Monte Carlo LT about a year ago. I loved it when I first bought it, but later I'm starting to double think this car. The shifter button sticks, thus causing the key not to come out of the ignition at times..Had to replace my Power Steering already, AND I'm starting to have transmission problems...Its sad, and the parts are so expensive! It looks cool, however. And I love the power it shoots out for a V6. I wouldn't recommend this vehicle to anyone with toddlers, or infants. Its hard to get in and out of the backseat. Ive owned this for a year, and I'm selling it for something more reliable.
Favorite Features
Spoiler, Horsepower, Looks, Cup holders in backseat, Onstar, Steering wheel buttons for radio, Trunk space.
Suggested Improvements
Not make them so cheaply.
I LOVE this car!!!!

2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 2dr Coupe (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
I recently bought a 2006 Monte Carlo SS and couldn't be happier. This car is fun to drive. It's a BEAST really!! I was worried about gas, seeing its a v8, but those worries went away. I drive mostly highway, and it's excellent on gas. I love how this car looks, inside and out. My old car was a 02 Grand Prix GT (2 door) and this car is very similar, except with a lot more power. Chevy did a great job with the 06-07 models, and I couldn't be happier!! =]
Favorite Features
The economy gas saver, the 5.3L v8! Big wheels

I've been driving my ltz for a month now and I'm really enjoying driving this car. The car only has 60.000 km so no problems yet!. Ive always had gm cars and I'm a gm lover! The car handles great, fuel economy I'm impressed. This car has a 3.9 engine so if you have a heavy foot well its normal that the car will cost you !. But at normal driving condition you will be impressed!. The downside of this car is the sound system I own a g5 2007 the 2 cars has the same sound system, I expected more from the ltz! This car performs at its best when you want to pass a car. The acceleration is at its best after 35 km. For those people that do not like a gm product you should try this car !
Favorite Features
leathers seats ,beautiful dash ,onstar (optional was included in my purchase),mean sporty look outside sunroof,17 inch wheels, mags, powerful engine ,and if you drive under 100km fuel economy will impress you.Very quite ride and handles very nice.
Suggested Improvements
radio is disappointing ,very basic sound nothing too write home about!.For passengers in the back its not so bad , keep in mind its a 2 door so limited space too get in the car is expected!.
There's Never Anything Wrong
Vehicle
2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 2dr Coupe (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
This car has been the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned. It is very fast, in fact, a little more power than the front drive system can keep a hold of. In the winter, I drive around the other fast cars stuck in the snow because of the front drive. It's a trade off that works. Big trunk, comfortable interior that is solid after 28,000 miles. Fuel mileage has been the only disappointment. Sticker suggested 18/28 I get 15.5/23.
Favorite Features
iPod compatibility and 303 horses
Suggested Improvements
Better programming to take advantage of the displacement on demand system or 6 speed tranny

In general, I like the car. It performs well and gets good gas mileage (as much as 28-29 on the highway). The thing that bothers me is stuff that goes wrong way before it should. Both front strut towers and bearings at 40k, Tie rods at 45k. I have not been able to get more than 2 months in a row without one or more of the tire pressure sensors going out. Now today at 58K, the power steering pump just went. It is discouraging, and I am a hard core GM guy
Favorite Features
Satellite radio, seat heaters

2006 Super Sport
Vehicle
2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 2dr Coupe (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
I traded in a 2001 Buick Regal GS for the SS. I had high hopes after owning the Regal for four years, and without question I'm not disappointed by the Monte. The shape of the outside is handsome without being obnoxious. The interior is spacious, especially for a coupe, seats my 6'5" frame nicely, and the interior is a nice improvement from the Regal, which was already nice. Of course, the focal point of owning a Super Sport is the performance, and this one does not disappoint. Just from the feel, it blows the memory of my '87 Monte SS out of the water.
Favorite Features
The engine is definetly the favorite. The LS4 is a stomper, beating out quite a few "built" engines I've had the pleasure of enjoying.
Suggested Improvements
With most GM cars, I tend to dislike the materials the interiors use. I like the seats, the shifter and switches and gauges are an improvement, but the plasticky stuff can be trashed for something better.

06 Monte Carlo SS
Vehicle
2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 2dr Coupe (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
I have a bias for the shape of the roofline on 2006-2007 Monte Carlos. For me it has lots of interior room, something that cost above 40K in a Asian or Euro coupe. It is very fast when you stand on it. I have upset at least the following imports; Audi Q7 with V-8, BMW 650 convertble, Porsche boxster. Yes it is a front wheel drive and a amiable performer one click down from the Pontiac GTO and the last year of the Z28 Camaro. It will deliver 25 to 28 mpg on flat highways when driven at speed limit, I average about 23 mpg on highway due to spirited driving. The Goodyears hum at around 45-55 mph then get quiet. Plenty of trunk room, leather seats are firm and so is suspension. Like it a lot.
Favorite Features
Hands free phone when paying for OnStar.
Suggested Improvements
Coin slots or storage near the cup holders. Door pockets will swallow coins due to drainage slots and rattle when shut. Make a better seat back adjustment lever.

Monte
Vehicle
2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo LT 2dr Coupe w/1LT (3.5L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Since I've had my Monte I have been going on a lot of road trips and have put a lot of miles on it. I have driven it across various states, into Canada, through snowy mountain passes, and this car has always gotten me from A to B flawlessly! I realized that I like front wheel drive when I was driving on snowy roads (you dont fishtail or lose control as easy as rear wheel) This is a good road tripping car. Though I did wake up one morning, started the car, and realized that some how the power steering pump went out overnight, being under warranty, the dealer took care of it quick. Other then that I believe this car is dependable, I have definitely put it through the test and it passed.
Favorite Features
Ipod jack, heated seats, information center, dual exhaust (nice rumble), powerful V-6, tire pressure sensor (though its a pain to set) comfortable ride, digital compass, fold down back seats, roomy trunk.
Suggested Improvements
I do wish this model had the classic Monte carlo symbol somewhere on the car, Impala still has its symbol, why can't Monte?

SS Muscle is Back
Vehicle
2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS 2dr Coupe (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
I am very pleased by the performance and handling of this FWD "muscle car" from GM. The ride is very civilized, however the seats are not well bolstered. GM removed about $1500 worth of optional equipment, such as the guage package, leather shifter and boot, and the passenger power seat (to mention a few). I found my 2003 SS to be more comfortable. If they had just left the creature comforts alone, and just added the V-8 and changed the front clip styling, they would have hit a home run. I get between 30 and 35 mpg on the highway/9-12 mpg in city driving. It is touchy keeping the DOD in 4 cyl. mode, but that does improve fuel economy by about 20%.
Favorite Features
I added stripes for a sporty ppearance reminiscent of the 1970 Chevelle SS, "SS" stitching on the headrests like the Impala, and I replaced the "truck wheels" with a set of Z06 Corvette styled wheels, that all grab the attention of onlookers.
Suggested Improvements
GM should have just left the car alone, apart from adding the LS4 engine and changing the front clip styling. Offer a set of stylish wheels and a two option preset for the power seats. And, rear wheel drive would help. Then I wouldn't have to answer the FAQ "Is it rear wheel drive?"
