Best car for the buck

2000 Chevrolet Metro 2 Dr STD Hatchback
Review
I bought this car with 69,000 on it and it has 97,000 now. The way the car is performing I would not doubt that it may reach 200,000. Engine is spotless. I heard my pastor's wife say right next to me not knowing it was mine that it was a very quiet car. Made me feel proud. Not to mention getting 53 mpg consistently and a/c still works. I prayed for 2 weeks for a 3 cylinder 5 speed metro at a time when very few were selling them because of fuel prices. I did find some for sale on eBay but did not want to go out of state. Then this car showed up about 2 1/2 miles from my house. The guy said he just showed up with it one hour ago. Paid 2,700. It is just like I wanted but better. Will never sell it!

Suggested Improvements
The only improvement I can think of is they need to bring this little car back. They stopped making them in 2001. Very affordable. As you can see I thought it was worth my time in writing this much in hopes that people who own a Metro will keep this little car alive for as long as possible.

Great car
Vehicle
2000 Chevrolet Metro 4 Dr LSi Sedan
Review
I purchased this car as my first vehicle slightly after turning 16. We payed close to $5,000 and this car was worth every penny. It was reliable and great on gas. Because of the low price point it was a good learning vehicle. I really did beat the crap out of it, and it kept going like a trooper. I recently wrecked it by rear-ending someone like an idiot and really regret losing the vehicle. (I only had liability) This lead me to write a review about ol' Blue as I called it. RIP, you always got me from point A to point B, you will be missed.
Favorite Features
Fuel economy is great. The vehicle is much more spacious than it looks from the outside. A good deal of trunk space as well. I was impressed by the stereo, though. I'm not an audophile but it seems really solid for a car of this price. Did I mention the fuel economy is very good?
Suggested Improvements
For a niche market and is built to be affordable, so it's hard to gripe about the lack of extras like power steering, cassette or CD, power windows, etc. Simple things could have been thought out better, though, like cup holders. Cabin becomes noisy at times. A good first car. Don't expect luxuries.
Metro Fits Driveway

2000 Chevrolet Metro 4 Dr LSi Sedan
Review
We have a tight driveway that dictates a narrow car. Although we could afford any car, we are quite pleased with our second Metro. We sold our first to a coworker who has logged another 100k on the 3 banger. This new one with the 4 cyl engine has some nice punch. Good head & leg room, nimble, easy on gas. We bought this from a dealer for $6k with 39k miles. So far, no major problems. This is a very good car for the money with Suzuki engineering. A nicely built, tight car.
Favorite Features
Narrow width, good mpg, low maintenance, split fold down back seats for golf bags, easy parking, 4 passenger/4 door performance, running lights, value for the money, and the trunk release is quite handy.
Suggested Improvements
We would love to have cruise control for weekend trips to relatives' house. That's it. Everything else is very good.

Unbelievably good for the price!!
Vehicle
2000 Chevrolet Metro 2 Dr STD Hatchback
Review
I'm truly impressed!! I bought it about 11/2 years back with 36K miles for $3500. I now have 52K miles, and the car has been ABSOLUTELY trouble free!! I get about 35 to 36 mpg in PURE city driving (and Los Angeles traffic is as bad as it gets) and it has given as high as 47mpg on pure highway stretches at 65mph with the A/C on!! I was incredibly surprised at how comfortable it was inside (at 5'10" I'm not very tall), but nevertheless it truly exceeded my expectations!! The clutch is among the best in the business, and the gear shifting is butter smooth. This is an UNBELIEVABLE VALUE FOR THE MONEY!!
Favorite Features
FANTASTIC sound system for it's class; Outstanding gas mileage; EXTREMELY light clutch for truly EFFORTLESS stop- n-go driving in city traffic-no comparison to other manuals; Outstanding reliablity; Ultra-compact exterior enables me to park virtually anywhere!!!
Suggested Improvements
Even with the manual, it's a bit underpowered, especially when climbing grades and with passengers in the car. Should've come with power steering standard (hard to park); needs much better insulation from road/engine noise on freeway (though engine never sounds "harsh")
MY METRO
Vehicle
2000 Chevrolet Metro 4 Dr LSi Sedan
Review
My car was bought because we were expecting a baby. It was cheep and I liked the way it looked. It isn't too big, but it isn't too small. I am short and have trouble fitting into bigger cars, I fit perfect in this car. And I usually don't have trouble parking.
Favorite Features
It's small, ok gas millage for city driving, but not for freeway driving. Big enough to fit everything I need, and decent factory sound.
Suggested Improvements
FASTER!! and more powerful, but I guess it wouldn't be small anymore.
