2006 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx Road Test Ratings

Interior features unexpected in this class set the Malibu Maxx apart from its competitors.

Acceleration from the standard 3.5-liter V6 is strong, but very numb electric power steering, clumsy handling, torque steer and mediocre brakes drag the rating down.

The Maxx's ride is soft and the suspension well damped over large bumps. Rear seat passengers have a lot of room.

For this class, things like a 60/40 sliding rear seat (7" inches of travel) and an available rear seat DVD player are unexpected and make this car quite a bit more flexible than you would expect.

Exterior body design is unique and pleasant. Inside, it’s a bit plain and monochromatic. Assembly quality is average.
